Which telco and which sender? So far I have no issue with Giga! It could be sender issue.

All sorts of sms, banking otp, 2fa for apps.

I even have to send myself a sms just to test if the function works before I need to use OTPs. If I receive the same text in the same window, it means sms function working.

Today it magically worked again without any settings changed. 24 hours after I left a message for tech support via giga app.

If this affects all sorts of SMS, OTP or 2FA, I feel the issue is with your phone or network connection.

Well, I dont have much complaints with giga for the amount I pay but ported out because of the lack of VoLTE support on my phone. Have been waiting for them to maybe expand the list of handsets they support but sadly I dont think there's much progress on that front. The data rollovers and freebies they dish out occasionally are nice but I dont really get to fully utilise them anyways.

Had a few instances where data connectivity died (exclamation mark on the signal icon) and had to restart phone/toggle airplane mode but that was in Jul/Aug and not sure if it was software related or giga's fault. If I were to nitpick, their app takes up far too much storage for the funcitionality it provides and is on the whole not very well-optimised. Can't wait to delete it once my port out is completed.

which cheaper plan to change? currently using $18 plan. probably change to $10 one, but which one most value for money yet good provider

I must say giga used to be good. But it seems like there are more dead spots or network throttling happening. I can have full cellular connection but nothing loads. It's been like this for a few months and no improvement. Have since ported to gomo and only 1 day I can feel the difference. Pages load faster and no dead spots so far.

Use to go giga due to gomo no volte. But that's not an issue now. Give so much free data but if the base user experience is so bad no point staying.

This is my first time doing a telco switch, all along have been using M1 prepaid then M1 sim-only. Read through some threads and I’ve decided to port in to giga on 1st Oct 0000 hrs. Anyone can advise if M1 will charge me for the few minutes of usage on 1st Oct? Sorry if is a dumb qn, really dk where else to ask

Will probably have some pro-rated charges from 1st Oct to the day the number porting is done to your new giga sim card.
