Hello guys ! I just manage to port over from circle life to simba.

can I check for billing wise will the monthly deduction will be from the account balance ?
I’m on superroam plan .

it is every 30 days, not 1 month. if acct got balance, will deduct there, else need to pay via cc/dc.

To add to the other responses, I do recall someone here mentioning that one's account balance must have more than sufficient to cover the monthly charges, otherwise they will deduct from your CC; i.e., if your account balance is only $5 and monthly charges $10, SIMBA will NOT deduct $5 from balance and $5 from CC. It will only deduct $10 from your CC.

I use about 30 to 40gb data each month. U can imagine the painful throttle I experienced on zero1. After exceeding the 6gb fast speed, the throttled speed is so slow that after 7gb usage, I refuse to use anymore.

If u use less than 20gb each month, vivifi @ $11 will be good value.
My friend bought a normal Honda Civic hoping he is able to achieve the performance of a Civic Type R at lower cost. When he eats the dust of a Civic Type R, he will complain how lousy his normal Civic is and never about himself wanting to save cost.

Porting out before 30 days will incur $30 charge, just letting you know bro...

Anyway, care to elaborate your issue? For me, always dealing near camps, able to stream soccer etc without much of an issue :)

Just VoLTE not working on certain Android devices, which can be quite frustrating lol...

Has anyone tried Simba's roaming in Thailand before?
I'm torn between upgrading from the standard $10 a month to $25 SuperRoam, or to get a Thai Tourist SIM card.
My previous Malaysia free data roam was terrible so I'm worried the Thailand data roam will be bad.

Malaysia on Celcom was ok for me, kids were enjoying their mobile app games without interruption.

Anyway, perhaps simplier to just take the $5.99 DTAC prepaid cards from Changi Recommend (google for it) Can collect at Changi Airport before departure.

oh, no issue abt the penalty, been using since TPG launch. Often kena airplane mode, have 4bars but not loading. Realize the free malaysia data clocks a tat too fast too but would reserve this complaint since could be my user problem too. Go for day trip nv on tunein, just gmaps, already clocked more than 0.5GB. This is main catalyst for decision to port out now, as found i can pay less for more malaysian data with redone amazing8. What im losing is free volte calls originating from Malaysia, which can workaround by watsapp.

I have a second SIM for sg use, Zym 9.9GB with rollover data. Simba speed totally cant match Zym though same price tier. Been monitoring my usage, think i can survive on that alone.

I guess SIMBA is still pretty pretty stable after all... Probably staying with them for these coming months... :)

Recently made a switch to Giga recently and damn jialat... Firstly, iMessage/FaceTime problem and after they replaced a new SIM, everything worked and suddenly, I wasnt able to receive OTPs again :(

Quite pissed and switch my main line back to SIMBA, everything ported over and so far no issues with iMessage and OTPs. Moreover, their tech is pretty responsive.

Just sharing, those who is concerned with their auto-billing, topup/recharge whatever you call it full subscription amount into your wallet because that's their first order of deduction :)

Above experience shared is based on iPhone, and for Android i understand some will need an App or something to call

Coverage wise Simba is decent .. i do get alot of network disconnect and reconnect message though which sometimes annoys me (at MRT / lifts etc..).. but data recover quickly. It is not the best speed for simba (playstore software updates takes ages) probably will port out again after 1-2 month myself. 1 gb roaming is nice but not really suffix if you go 1-2 x a month in jb etc...

Yeah coverage is not the best but still okay, for me, tech support is responsive so i'm ok as long they addresses all my concerns.

Just havent tried the Voice app (for some Android users) haha...

Their coverage is constantly improving. They have improved a lot since they started.

As for data roaming, agree that 1Gb not enough if you visit the country frequently. If you need more data, you can top up $4/GB into your account. My advise is to download offline maps before you go into the country so you save data on Google maps loading. Save the data for communications and Web surfing instead

Didn’t know… but $4/GB pretty cheap imo
Simba billing damn confusing, so I always have $10 in my account is correct right? Billing cycle is every 22nd of mth, then the account balance will be use to pay for last month usage rite?

Postpaid? Yes, as long as you have money inside your wallet it will be the first order of deduction, follow by credit card :)

Billing cycle is dependent on your signup date I think.

Someone I know who uses SIMBA $10 plan -- went overseas sometime ago.

I was told by this person -- the trip last about 5days from 24th to 28th.

This person's SIMBA 30day cycle for that month -- happens to be renewed on 26th.

So...

From 24th to 25th, this person has 1GB FREE roaming data and...
From 26th to 28th, this person has ANOTHER FREE 1GB roaming data (due to renewal of next 30day cycle).

This person uses 0.3GB - 0.7GB mobile data each day during the trip.

In total for the entire trip -- about 2.3GB mobile data was used.

For excess data charges, SIMBA charged $4/GB for that particular country -- and charges by per 10MB used.

So for the 5day trip, excess mobile data charges -- deducted from SIMBA account was just: (2.3GB - 2GB) = 0.3GB x $4/GB = $1.20

Even this person is surprised -- by the low cost occurred for mobile data usage for the trip.

yup, it's much cheaper for short trips or maybe groceries shopping to JB, rather than getting M1 Data Passport.
