If my main sim is e sim - using my republic cheapest plan $10

bundle with either simba 100gb or zero 1 80gb, this plan maybe super power

almost 0 downtime assuming if 1 telco outage. Any thoughts? If mobile broadband also can esim, then ho say liao

Why not?

For me, I am using Singtel main and eSIM MR as secondary. Sometime during September, the Singtel line went down and the MR network took over. The theory worked.

Someone said SingTel will never go down. In fact they claimed MR (M1) is always down

Sorry, if this is very basic and please no slamming me, please.
I will be travelling to Japan soon, and if i were to get an e-sim card, (which i understand is only data),
am i able to make whatsapp call/message with my Singapore number?

Thinking of buying plan from Airalo..

Thank you.

Make sure your whatsapp account is log in with your Singapore number. Whatsapp is based on the tel number you log into and NOT which sim card you are using for data.

As an example, I uses MR eSIM and Malaysia Digi physical SIM card when I travel to Malaysia. My Whatsapp account (logged in with Singapore number) continues running while I uses data from Digi.

Simple answer: yes you can.

I am going to try Airalo also in November, let’s see it’s performance.

I just used eSim from ICC (got it from Shoppe) for my Europe trips, sim was from CMKH, was good though. Can’t activate in SG after added, but once touched down in Europe it’s activated immediately and data starts coming. Very good experience with eSim so far. This is my eSim experience other than Yoodo.

Thank you yotoden and SibehHL for your replies.

You guys heard of Dent?
I was looking at it but it seems to imply that you would need to use Dent tokens (their own cryptocurrency) to buy & sell data on their marketplace. In the end seems too troublesome to me. If going to just buy eSIM directly from them, Airalo seems to have more competitive pricing.

On eSIMs, anyone knows of a mobile wifi that supports eSIMs?

I am using it now. Not bad, watch videos to gain some credits and data. All the data is valid for 365 days from the day of issue.

Can also get from marketplace at affordable prices, albeit with shorter expiry.

If you want referral link (free 500MB), can pm me.
