I generally buy from lazada/qoo10/shopee

But recently seems to have some with fake data GB, like say unlimited then is 500MB, so this time I buy from long-time sellers like ICC and wefly

Use AirSim, one card for repeated usage for many countries, just choose package and top up. No need hassle of collecting from airport or whatever.

Does this offer a local SIM number?
If the hotel wants to call you on a local number, how to be reached?

if you add in roaming call time, local or oversea still call on your own mobile phone no.

I bought the e-sim from b-mobile. Gonna use it for iPhone 14 pro though it is not in the list of compatible device. Will update the result whether it works in the coming days. Hope it works, wish me luck...

The e-sim works with iPhone 14 pro. But you must activate and add the e-sim only when you have reach Japan. Do not activate before your trip or you might end up voiding it and have to pay a small sim for re-activate. I used airport Wi-Fi so no worries about having no internet access to activate when you land in Japan.

Follow the instructions closely and all will be fine.

the price of b-mobile seems more expensive than ubigi e-sim, any reason/s to go with b-mobile? and do you purchase the data before you fly or purchase when you reached Japan?
I’m getting the 5gb which is around 19 sgd, not sure how much ubigi is and it’s plan. I’ve been using b-mobile for my previous trips but I can say their speed isn’t the best you can expect, but it works well for me since I don’t need to install any apps. I can play YouTube music fine, but when you are in a high density build up area the speed gets affected like most other networks.

Not fake lah… It’s likely that it is unlimited… just that the first 500MB is 4G speed… if exceed daily 500MB limit the speed will be throttle down to either 3G or lower speed… but still can use just lower speed… this is due to most telco imposing Fair Usage Policy…

This time I bought from wefly from shopee

ICC usually the most expensive and wefly also quite expensive, so I just compare the two see which one currently having discount.

Some sellers say unlimited 4G and priced higher than the typical 500MB or 2GB 4G, then end up is only 300MB 4G. Check the review comments on those sellers.

trevelling to osaka in Jan 2023 but arriving at airport at 9pm, will telco shops selling data sim for tourists be still open ?

also thought it would be better to have the sim ready when reach there, rather than reach there then settle, might have hiccups,

any local selling which is recommended ?
