but they rent cars also not cheap ley. some are paying 400+ a week which can amount to 17xx to 19xx a month! u factor in installment + rd tax + insurance + servicing still cheaper la.
You can go ahead : Buy new car and ply under phv to finance the monthly installment.

Is it worth buying COE Honda Fit/Jazz? Will be my 1st car. Any known issues to look out for?

Yes, COE Jazz/Fit would be the most reliable with low Dep and high resale value. Since there is so much in market, you are spoiled for choices and take your time to choose. Never ever dive in immediately without proper accessing and review and checking of car. As first timer and first car, it is a very good choice. Would be mine choice if I can go back 20yrs+... :D

Please correct me if I am wrong - Small hatch is not qualify for PHVL hence no worry in getting a high milage PHVL car with altered odometer.

Things to look out for will be easily found online, just do a google search eg. milage, number of owner/s, finance scheme and car's STA rating. As for the condition, please go view yourself and test drive.

The primary things to do now is to search your car through sgcarmart and find the most desire car and test drive it.

Saw a few fit/jazz phv on the road. Do check out a few cars before committing. Ideally send for inspection before you commit, so you won’t have unwanted surprises like faulty gearbox, broken ac compressor…

to be accurate is that all vehicles can be register as z10 for phv but its the platform that reject that particular model to be used as a PHV vehicle.

full android kind
I don't think anyone can recommend a specific brand. Look for ones with 2GB of RAM at least, especially if you intend to use Google Maps. It's gotten bloated lately and will likely FC due to lack of memory on 1GB devices. (Or: just somehow disable this and use Waze).

For me I didn't actually replace the stock radio with a head unit, I invested in a rear view mirror / reversecam / dashcam / dvr combo that happens to be powered by Android. Options like these do not require you to perform surgery on your vehicle, and its simpler if you're willing to run things off the car cigarette lighter plug,

DIN Head units are available up to Android 10, tho in general you'll need to also buy the facade replacement along with this, as half the Jazz and fit that don't already have in-car entertainment systems use radios that are built/integrated into the dash. I would honestly advise against this, especially if you are not confident of removing trim and putting it back where it was. Unless you really "gien" having a screen in your older Honda like the new ones.

The problem is that these devices tend to be "orphaned" and never receive updates, if at all, so you're in general stuck with the android version the system comes with - especially if you buy a cutprice clear stock from places like Lazada.

You won't be getting anything running Android 11 for now. let alone Android 12. They don't exist.

You also won't have the option of Android Auto only, you'll need to install the Android Auto app on your head unit and pray that it's supported.

Also, you'll need to contend with the manufacturer's choice of UI implementation. Android 8.1 is the first Android with multiwindow, but the manufacturer of my rear view mirror seems to have disabled this, which is a pity.

if you don't need a rearcam/dashcam and just want an entertainment/navigation system: grab a 10" android tablet with a 3.5" audio jack and a holder.

If you do decide to get an integrated DIN unit OR rear view mirror / DVR, try finding one with at least 2GB of RAM.

Oh, and I believe all Jazz and Fit have 3.5" Aux Port (check for this! It's a blessing for old cars that have them!); plug android device there and set your stock radio to Aux. Better quality than Bluetooth or FM transmitter. There are some units you can't do this with however, like the ones where the rear view camera actually uses the audio jack for data/ power delivery.
