only way to disable overseas transaction and enable when you need it and perm just disable magnetic swipe function since wont be using it anyway

I always switch source to wallet when not using it and switch it to credit card when i need to use.

This strategy work wonderfully well when the card is not in regular use. Now imagine being some place - say a mall - where you are using the card every so often. Imagine having to switch overseas transactions on and off before and after each transaction.

Even though there seems to be no alternative, I must say that it reflects tremendous distrust by all of us in Amaze. I suspect the company doesn't care. They've provided the functionality in their app, and whether it is tedious or not is our headache not theirs.

Base on my previous Ocbc titanium card being fraud oversea even when it’s a new and unused card, it’s a batch of card that got compromise (more than 5 cards of same type)

in this example, its a virtual card

but since this fraud is running through the virtual card, it’s the batch of virtual card
They could have figure out the algorithm just like what I observe on the physical card fraud abuse

Oh wow!

Yes, I was in the US in December. I had initial card checks at HomeDepot.com and Lowes.com (both of which I missed because they didn't trigger alerts) a few minutes before the fraudent transaction. That transaction was in-person, it seems.

Did you have any magstripe-based charges before that? Will PM you separately to compare notes.

Hello, I also got a fraudulent transaction from Amaze this morning 😭

I woke up at 9am then I saw a notification on my phone at 6am telling me someone purchased from a bridal shop in the US and the amount was 772 USD ($1000 + SGD).

I immediately informed Instarem and my bank and I was just given the dispute form by Instarem, and I was told by my bank they can only conduct investigation once the transaction is posted because it's not posted yet.

I also contacted the merchant's customer care service but they said they couldn't do anything as I don't have the order number or email address used to purchased the order...

Can I ask, those who reported to Instarem about the fraud transaction, did you guys get your money back? Do I need to report to the police about this, or should I wait and see whether I will get my money back? 😭 😭

Just to clam you a bit, I did get my money back from an unauthorised transaction in about 30-45 days, though I have since avoided using AMAZE card.

Have to give credits to AMAZE customer service, they are quite responsive.

Omg that's great, very good to hear to calm my heart down a little. 🙂

I submitted the dispute form this morning, and they haven't gotten back to me. Did they regularly check in with you regarding the situation or you had to check in yourself?

And for the money, did they return to your bank account or it was stuck in the amaze wallet?

I believe you will only hear from them next Monday earliest.

the dispute procedure is pretty standard, there is no update from their end, you can periodically check your AMAZE transaction to see if the refund has come in (in fact my 1st transaction was refunded in <7 days, while the 2nd took 45 days), or email them every 2 weeks for update.

The money will be credited back to the cc you linked to amaze.

1. I would never link a debit card to Amaze.

2. Yes, the money has always been refunded from fraudulent transactions on my account, down to the last Singapore cent.

3. See my posts above for how long it took for (2) to happen after submitting the dispute form. It was not bad at all.

4. Keep the card locked when not in use.

Yeah now I know I shouldn't haha because when I was using Amaze that time I was still a student and I went for grad trip so I used my debit card.

I'm not going to use the card anymore in case of such activity again, I literally got a shock and panicked when I woke up and saw my phone notification.

I hope I will get back the money as fast as you did! You mentioned your payment was reversed on Day 9, and you have gotten all the money back up to date?

don't ever use debit card, credit card is more secured and you have higher chance of getting your money back in case of fraudulent transaction

if the transactions is online transactions authorised with the sms OTP or if its provisioned on Apple Pay and used from Apple Pay, I believe this cannot be claimed back via charge back and the consumer has to bear the charges as the person has provided the sms otp for the txn.
