IMHO.
Can connect to Malaysia network
Cannot connect to UK network at Heathrow
Cannot connect to US network at JFK
Err, I know you want to set an identity with "IMHO", but if nothing else is opinion and is an attempt to share facts, then your whole post contradicts itself.

Once you put IMHO, it's no longer a fact.

really cannot auto roam at JFK airport? how about the other US states?
IMHO.
One more other state further in from US East coast also cannot.
The plan was SIMBA SuperRoam which was purposely signed up for this purpose.
Even went to Punggol Northshore to "roam" to Malaysia network to test connection
and confirm that roaming was working.

P.S. I am not the actual user.

No lah, IMHO very versatile, can be use as disclaimer.
I agree once I put that it is not a fact.
But my posting, sometimes will include my opinions.
Anyway, users should be able to discern what is factual or not.

I entirely agree, and some of his posts aren’t even opinions. Really much effort on his part to preface every single post with IMHO.

Which phone model are you using in states? Maybe you can try putting simba sim into a usa phone and see if really simba or non usa phone problem

My experience in Kyoto was that samsung A7 got roaming connection problem, in few area ok, most area no connection.

Then XM mi note 10 and my mother's Redmi note 9T no problems in Kyoto, even can use volte calling.

I suspected maybe Samsung A7 did not have the 4G bands that KDDI uses in certain places.

I suspect it's VoLTE.

KDDI required VoLTE Roaming to work for SIMBA.

AT&T / T-Mobile is also very strict on VoLTE requirements, data-only LTE devices (older phones) ain't allowed on their network as a result afaik.

Somemore they use whitelist approach so international phones can have a hard time connecting. Even for those that's the same model name, just diff model number.

This is a forum and each person is free to write whatever he thinks, but to attack a person based on his humble opinion is just lame, very immature and communist-minded.

Please grow up and be mature.
No one is attacking him on his humble opinions, we're merely telling him that his "IMHO" preface is just silly and at times out of place. Btw, please drop your "communist-minded" insult, it too makes no sense in this context and is a very last century insult. ;)

Overall the mapping is quite accurate except for the green lines (3G) that you see. No idea where, when and how it got there.

Would really help if more people contributes to the active mapping.

The issue with relying on nPerf is that sometimes on one side of the block you might be getting 4 bars, but a unit on the opposite end might barely be receiving 1 bar like in my case. And I'm next to a window as well.

Glad you allow me to live in your headspace, rent free. :s13:

In any case, you clearly miss the point here. There's a pattern many users are highlighting, and it's not even done in a rude way. The feedback stated that his contradictory message confuses other users as to the meaning and intention of the message.

However, your (repeated) tone is confrontational. When we add that it is not the first time, not even the second or third from you, it does appear you have it personal. Because I have noted this trend from you, the irony of this pattern of your recent posts is not lost.

Reported, because these are public forums, and investigating moderators can easily track your post patterns. Even your edit/deletion patterns. ;)

Maybe but unlikely - using a Samsung flagship phone - Samsung Note10+.
There we comments that should not have issues with Apple iPhones. 🤣

Hmm.. now that you mention the 4G bands, maybe the necessary bands in the modem not functioning (spoil ). 🤔

It's not a matter of flagship phone or not. The US LTE bands are different to just about the rest of the world & many companies do not support these bands for 'global' models (ie the types sold in Singapore). Apple is one of the few brands where their phones support all bands, including the US LTE bands.

A friend also had an issue with data roaming on his Samsung phone (I think is S7) but when he moved the SIM card to his wife's iPhone, it was fine.

USA got no more 3G calling right. All phones must enable VoLTE.

Either that or it's is Exynos problem.

Heard too many horror stories about Orange France roaming, most of the time being Exynos and/or HiSilicon based phones, especially older ones.
