@Apex, @CPTMiller, can share how the green Starhub prepaid SIM and which travel SIM are better, cheaper and more convenient than the CMLink?

For CMLink, it's about $10, including 6Gb data overseas. Their billing cycle is standard for everybody from 1st to 30th/31st of a month. If you are traveling say on the 15th for 4 weeks, you'll literally get a total of 12Gb roaming data across 2 billing cycles.

I found this probably the best and most convenient deal around.

Would love to see other better options but researching on the Starhub green prepaid suggested otherwise. Not sure what other "travel SIMs" are available out there though ...
  • Where are you traveling to?
  • I understands CMLink free roaming only cover China and HK.
If you are traveling to China or Hong Kong, then the CMLink free roaming service would be useful for you.

  • If you traveling outside the China and HK region, the CMlink sim card will not be useful.
Since CMLink free roaming only covers China and Hong Kong. (please correct me if i am wrong.)

  • If I only need data while travel overseas, I will head to Shopee, KKbox, and Airalo (if my phone supports eSIM) to get my overseas data SIM card.

Or just pay for the usual roaming data add-ons from $5 if you want convenience.

Check with u guys
The $10.80, 4g plan with 12gb per month, which includes 6gb that can be used in china/hk, means up to 6gb is taken from the base 12gb usable in Sg right?

That is correct.

Of the 12GB data, 6GB can be used in China/HK. If you on CIS, there may be another 50min of IDD call time.

Simple. In SG, you'll have 12Gb data. In China/HK, you'll have 6Gb data.

The tricky part is the "timing". All CMLink users are billed based on calendar month, except the first month of you signing up, which is pro rated.

From 2nd month onward, if you travel from 15th to next month 15th for instance, you'll have total 12Gb of roaming data (= 6Gb (from current month) + 6Gb (from next month). 👍👍👍👍👍

My line ported in middle of month and pro-rated as you mentioned but subsequently reset on the first of each month, i.e., 25+25GB both resets on 1st of each month

Hi just to check, I ported my number over. But when I try to login on cmlink website (they have no app), to check my account details. I keep getting "The number you entered is invalid". I can't use the original (temp) number given as the number already ported. I can't receive any SMS from the temp number anymore.
Any idea why or how?

If your number has already successfully been ported over, you should be able to log in to the web to check your account details.

You can email them for help. Believe it or not, they will reply you within max 1 hour. I have received reply in 5 minutes. Amazing !!!!

Or you can try their hotline. Very short waiting time. But even you choose English or Cantonese, it'll still go to their Mandarin speaking officers. So do prepare for it. But overall the waiting time is fantastically short.

There's a monthly premium for this.

Yes they will be able to route the call and sms to SG CMlink number
