The Treasures of the Dhamma​

When we come to the monastery we come looking for peace and calm, so don’t go releasing tigers, crocodiles, and rabid dogs into the monastery grounds, endangering everyone who comes here. Tigers, crocodiles, and rabid dogs stand for our very own greed, anger, and delusion. We have to chain them and cage them and lock them up tight. Make absolutely sure that they don’t come escaping out your thoughts, words, and deeds in any way.

善事不好做，但能做好的，就已大成就了。

修道要經過重重考驗，先是人道的考驗，再是天道來考驗。比如說做好事，不一定會馬上有好報，甚至惡報都來了。這就是上天給人的考驗，考驗你是什麼心來做好事。

人做善事，為什麼上天靠考驗。要知道，福報都是逆著來的。首先，過去有業障，所以會業障現前，好比去朝山，一來業障，拜佛也不想拜了。也可見，想要做善事，也要有福報，沒有福報，還真的做不了善事。好比說，你想來寺院做義工，但要忙著賺錢養家，根本就沒有時間。所以做好事，也需要有福報。

上天要考驗，是讓人明白，你是為什麼而做好事。為了面子，為了得到好的名聲而做好事。那這樣子就得不到功德。上天就先給你敗壞一下名聲，讓人來罵罵你，說你做好事是假的，為自己謀利益是真的。要是你不為了名聲，不管別人怎么說，你儘管做。那你就過關了。要是你為了名聲，給別人一罵，就退心了，說明上天的考驗不過關。

大福報，都是逆著來的。古來大德做事的，幾乎都是上天在考驗。好比憨山德清禪師，他去重興南華寺，被別人污衊為貪污，結果被抓進監獄。後來憨山大師成就了肉身，現在供在南華寺，和六祖惠能供在一起。那後來虛雲禪師，也是一樣，重興雞足山時，被人誹謗。那再後來，來了文革，那些老和尚，鐵骨錚錚的，幾乎都進了監獄。本煥長老，進監獄二十年，佛源老和尚，勞改二十年，夢參老和尚，進監獄三十年。不僅是進監獄，甚至歷代祖師，也被人害死的也有。所以說，善事不好做，但能做好的，就已經大成就了。但能堅持做下去的，都是成佛作祖的。好比西遊記中，觀音菩薩故意要安排九九八十一難來磨難唐僧，過關了，也就成佛了。

密勒日巴尊者 驅魔的故事

他就念另外一種咒，叫大悲咒，就像我們在念心經、大悲咒一樣：「願你們都成佛，大家和平相處」。

當他換一個念頭這樣念的時候，那些鬼就不見了，剩下一個鬼王說：「我在外面守護你！」

所以如果有人跟你說哪裡有鬼，你就幫祂念「南無妙色身如來」，祂就變漂亮了。
你施食甘露給祂，祂就要生天了，餓鬼生天了。然後，這些鬼就成為護法，那多好。

所以出家人，出家的第一天就是學蒙山施食，


每天晚上幫助這些孤魂野鬼有甘露吃、生天、去極樂世界，這是大乘佛教的特點——修大悲心。
岩羅剎女回答說：「我來自你內心的分別念啊！如果你不調伏自心，有現證空性，不只有我一個岩羅剎女，還有更多的羅剎會出現。」

尊者也曾經對岩羅剎女說：「比妳更厲之魔是我執，比妳更多之魔是意識，比妳更縱之魔是分別心。」
後來，尊者悟道時說：「執魔為魔所傷害，知魔為心即解脫，悟魔為空即斷法。」


【 速急、方便而又積聚巨大功德資糧福因的妙法-布施螞蟻 】

布施者以慈悲心念誦六字大明咒等加持食物，
並開示這些螞蟻以善悅的心情皈依三寶，發菩提心。同時將食物撒給螞蟻。

自己和眷屬的惡夢、惡相通過慈悲的佈施螞蟻作回向也會消滅，一切萬事將會順利興盛；
若有亡者成為厲鬼，有在世善人為其做功德佈施蟻群，等同於在佛殿中供長明燈，或供養寺廟以佛像、經書與佛塔之功德；
家中若有魔類鬼眾困擾，不祥等事，通過做這樣的佈施，功德回向眾生，發吉祥願，一切不順、不吉之事悉皆得以平息；
報父母養育之恩的善行功德與果報很大，報善知識之恩的功德也很大，不過長期佈施這一善舉的功德更大，此亦即得到暇滿人身的善因。

施蟻廣大佈施力，願諸眾生自成佛，
過去如來未度者，有此供施願得脫！
此福已得一切智，摧伏一切過患敵，
生老病死猶波濤，願度苦海諸有情。

兩千五百年前，釋迦牟尼佛傳法的時候，有一天，釋迦佛帶著弟子托砵外出化齋。
一群小孩在路上玩堆沙子。其中一位嬌滴滴的女孩子，遠遠看見釋迦佛帶領弟子們而來，
就半戲半真的用雙手從地上捧一捧沙，走到佛陀面前，往佛陀的飯砵內一放。釋迦牟尼客氣地接受了她的沙土。

大弟子舍利佛看不過眼，心想這女孩豈有此理，怎麼可以用沙土戲弄我師尊。在路上實在忍不住，就問道：
「師尊，剛才那女孩子，把沙土放您飯砵里，怎麼能讓她這麼胡鬧?」
釋迦佛微笑：「你們不知，此女千百年後，因緣成熟，要在東震旦國為王。

這時我如不接受她的沙，她將會試圖去破壞佛法。
我接受了沙子，這樣讓她結下此善因緣，她將來做王時將會弘揚佛法。」

此女孩子就是後來中國歷史上的一代女主武則天。

因為我們現在最麻煩的就是，你禪觀進不去。所以經本上面告訴我們，
假如你業重，業很重，要直接修定慧，修禪定智慧，無有是處，你會障礙很多。

你就是必須要先供養拜懺，積累福德、除掉一些業障才有可能。關鍵就在這裡。

If they cultivated as member of Sangha, they would have gained 阿罗汉 or 阿那含 or 斯陀含 or 须陀洹. However, they did nothing. they wasted their lives and ended up penniless.]

于第二分盛壮之身，勤求财物，亦可得为舍卫城中第二富者；若复剃除须发，著袈裟衣，正信、非家、出家学道者，亦可得阿那含果证。

若于第三分中年之身，勤求财物，亦可得为舍卫城中第三富者；若剃须发，著袈裟衣，正信、非家、出家学道者，亦可得为斯陀含果证。

彼于第四分老年之身，勤求财物，亦可得为舍卫城中第四富者；若剃须发，著袈裟衣，正信、非家、出家学道者，亦可得为须陀洹果证。

彼于今日，年耆根熟，无有钱财，无有方便，无所堪能，不复堪能，若觅钱财，亦不能得胜过人法。”

“不行梵行故，不得年少财，
思惟古昔事，眠地如曲弓。
不修于梵行，不得年少财，
犹如老鹄鸟，守死于空池！”

I have 2 questions to seek your advice and guidance:

1) I have registered a tablet for my 冤情债主 under KMS site: Qing Ming – The Dedication of Merits to The Departed Puja 清明超度法会.

I have the assumption that merits will be dedicated to my 冤情债主 through this puja. Is this correct? Do I still have to 回向 to them after the puja is over?


2) I registered Qing Ming festival's tablets for my late pets to dedicate merits to them under Thekchen Choling's site. Some of my pets have passed on for more than 10 years. Will they still be able to receive merits if they have reincarnated? I only thought about this question recently..

People who don’t get ahead in life are the ones whose bodies are human but whose minds drop down to lower levels. In other words, they’re all right in physical terms, but not in terms of their minds. For instance, when we come to the monastery, we depend on our feet to walk us here, but then when we get here if we let our minds and manners fall into lower ways, we’re no different from bats that hook their feet up on high places and then let their heads hang down low.

1) I have registered a tablet for my 冤情债主 under KMS site: Qing Ming – The Dedication of Merits to The Departed Puja 清明超度法会.

I have the assumption that merits will be dedicated to my 冤情债主 through this puja. Is this correct? Do I still have to 回向 to them after the puja is over?


2) I registered Qing Ming festival's tablets for my late pets to dedicate merits to them under Thekchen Choling's site. Some of my pets have passed on for more than 10 years. Will they still be able to receive merits if they have reincarnated? I only thought about this question recently..

1. Need to continue to dedicate merits to 冤情债主 because we have many 冤情债主 accumulated from past and current lifetimes. Eg, when u order chicken rice, the chicken which was slaughtered to become your lunch is your 冤情债主. Please read 佛说兴起行经. This sutra tells us the karma of Buddha. Even after he gains Buddhahood, he still has to suffer the consequences of his past deeds. https://www.osoul.cn/dzj/htmljw/0729.htm

2. Yes, they will receive the merits in whatever realm they are in. Hopefully the merits will help them to get out of lower 3 realms.

很多人來到人間，不知道自己是誰、幹了什麼，最後到死的時候也不知道要到哪裡去。

生活中，有時候悲傷，有時候快樂，都是生命的一種狀態，坎坷和艱辛蘊藏著本性和悟性。

只要認真地體會生命的真諦，就會笑著面對悲傷，悲傷會化為動力，要用世出世間法去看淡人生，讓煩惱隨緣飄過。

想一想，每一個人年輕的時候都有很多人愛過你們，在學生時代都有很多小朋友相戀，這些都是緣分，隨緣而去、隨風而逝。

所以讓煩惱隨著你的人生之緣慢慢飄過，承受一些人間的苦痛，就是消業障，吃的苦越多，消的業障越多。

要抓住自己的本性，才能衝破人間的煩惱，掌握好人間的契機，讓自己的心重新光明，重新點燃起一盞佛燈。

“貧窮自在，富貴多憂”。拿得起、放得下，這才是一個學佛人的心態。

u dont need specifically 回响 again but if you are chanting etc, you can 回响 to them

Yes they still receive the merits. if they are in lower realm, it can increase their chances of them to move out from lower realm faster. If they were already out like back to human realm, their 福报 will increased which is good for them too
