Would appreciate answers to my questions:
1) if I don't have salary ,
(a) can get credit card or not ?
(b) to qualify for higher interest, can I just Paynow the $1,600 per month and label it as salary ?
2) if use a debit card instead of credit card , does it have to be linked to the One account ? Or can be use some other account with UOB?
A u need fixed deposit to get cc
B some said can, u can try n see if the tracker tracked it few days later

2 can use selected debit card as stated in tnc but card holder must be main holder of the uob1 bank acct if it is joint acct. Debit card is auto linked to a bank acct for deduction.

Thanks for replying.

Does the FD have to be with UOB?
The debit card , according to CSO , has to be linked to the One Account, cannot be to any other UOB account . As my intention is to deposit a sizeable amount there , I don't feel comfortable linking the debit card to it.
By the way, is this extra bonus interest an ongoing thing? Or just for promo period ?

Yes uob1 bonus int. If u fulfill salary n spend with 100k, is 5% eir.

If u wan the fulfill the 500 spend using debit card, it has to be linked to the uob1 bank acct. Not any other debit card for other non bonus bank acct.

From my understanding, usually if u want that cc of that bank, u put fixed deposit into that bank. Not any other bank. Or u try apply using self employed with past iras income statements. I am not sure on this.

I'm retiree. Only regular money I'm receiving is from CPF.
I think the total per annum I'm receiving is enough to qualify for c c if it were salary instead. Plus no risk of getting retrenched 🤣.
So safer than someone with similar annual salary.
But I doubt that they will take that into consideration.

Ok i think debit card with 100k in it is a small risk lah. U just keep yr debit card safe n dont spend on doggy websites. Small risk for 5% as compared to stocks n others? 🙂

Aiyoh . You very rich. 100k is small money to you.
I scared my money disappear..... like that woman complaining about her DBS cards .... kept replacing them, and kept getting fake charges .

You ask questions in this forum, must always do your own due diligence, as info provided might not be reliable or correct.

You can always limit your risk with debit cards, set a lower withdrawal limit, simple. Manage your risk when dealing with most things. I use debit card, my account only has less than $10, debit card is also my ATM card, manage risk accordingly. You have 100k, limit your debit card to as low as u want.
Can't have less than $10 or other low figure in the account. Would defeat the purpose of opening the One account.
I'm not familiar with debit cards. Only use credit card. Have registered for Paynow, but not using.
The CSO didn't advise me when I mentioned that I don't want to risk the big amount in the One account by linking the card to the One Account.
So I learnt something from you.

Ok maybe u can consider hsbc ega then. No need use debit or cc spend. Abv 5% eir. But need to monitor closely n do the things correctly.

Anyway hsbc ega also have debit cards. Fyi even some cards that i dont use at all also can get fraud charges. Think maybe internal leak or they have auto machine to try all combis until successful i dunno.

Hi All, Recently just started on UOB One account.

Got qn on the UOB one credit card - hope that someone can enlighten me:

1. The eligible spending period for the $500 CC - is it from 1st to 30th of the month or billing cycle(e.g 15-Apr to 14-Apr) before it resets?

If it's billing cycle, are we able to change the billing cycle? not sure which is better - 1st or 30th of the month?

2. Inside the App, are we able to know which cc transactions count towards the $500 eligible spending?

Thanks in advance.

By calendar mth posting date not transaction date.

Int bank Uob1 bank acct inside got a tracker to track spending. If eligible it will add to the tracked amt.
