I did. If you want to go waterpark, hard rock desaru is the best choice, since there is a dedicated waterpark entrance for hard rock desaru guests.

Take the route that bypasses Kota Tinggi. Stick to Desaru and do not venture to Mersing. Check the sea conditions if you plan to visit the beach.

Yes, the resort is adjacent to the beach. Its restaurant and a bar is right at the edge.

The food is adequate but not great. If you want to host 1000 seminar guests at a retreat event and serve them food all at once cheaply and quickly, the Lotus can be the answer. It is a mega resort that can hold events and also host families. Some of their rooms are for package guests and others are sub-let, I think. I did not have any massage there.

Food on the Lotus stretch is confined to what is available in the 3-4 resorts. Likewise with the massage, There are options at Desaru Coast and Sungei Rengit if you drive,

One need not drive to JB for massage. Cheap options are available at Sungei Rengit and Kota Tinggi town. These probably do not operate till very late in the evening, unlike those in JB.
