For me it's the warranty or lack thereof. I used to just import PI sets (xz1) coz it's cheaper, until it happened that my one and only local set Xperia 1 ii had a green line on the screen. Initially I was questioning myself on the decision to break from my norm until I realized the local warranty actually saved me in that instance.

Sharing my experience with my local set 5ii. Lines started appearing 20 months in, so way past the 15months warranty period. Sony Care quote me 1k for parts replacement...

3rd party shop often no parts in stock and cost near $300 for replacement. at 1/4 the original cost, forget it. wait till mk5. My 5ii right now :

Ah i feel for you man, I guess that's the flip side. I think the mark ii batches all had a faulty ?Samsung screen. Pity there's no granularity with respect to servicing.

Yea. hearsay the screen for 5 II was Samsung, and Sony ditched it after that. My mum was using 5 II and also had the same lines on her screen

Likely no. Super likely no. You can buy from Spain. No local warranty and risk your item lost.

You should go have a look at the Green and Black. Sekali you like it. Sony always make people fall in love when they see the real item themselves.
