Thanks! Do you mind posting link of the mono price one. I think you pasted the furutech one again
https://amzn.asia/d/9LtfrDO

Amazon SG sells is just 20$ for 6 feet one.

I used to use only Monoprice for all my cables. When I replaced them with all Belden there was a clear improvement. IMO, the price is similar so I would just get from LHS.

Won't make much difference from the Belden 8412?

Custom cable vs factory made cable, factory made cable will be better.
If you want better sound you can consider DAC/Soundcard with RCA out
to connect to the Edifier bookshelf.

BTW which Edifier speaker you are using? R1280DBs?

Custom cable will provide better value for lower price. Factory terminated cable might be better in quality, but is it worth the markup?. A factory terminated Belden cable is easily 4-5X the price of the same cable DIY from Sim Lim.

Also depend on the quality of the speaker and DAC to be able to perceive the improvement. If using R1280DB, I doubt investing in premium cable would make significant difference. But say you invest more than 5 digits in the audio setup, then even an upgrade in power cord to the PC PSU would make a noticeable difference.

True cable only improve the quality of signal.
It still depends on the source as well as soundcard/DAC that drives the speaker/headphone.

The best cables faithfully carry the signal from source to output. No more or less.
Another important hardware would be power supply. And beware of land pirate products just like the foods everywhere
around us. Land pirate products are actually cheapo which put lots of effort on surface cover up to look expensive. And they actually able to function like the real stuff. They take away soul and health and turn victims into working slaves.

True that a good cable does not modify the actual digital or analog signal, but the actual sound output is also affected by the electrical signal. Upgrading cables could lower the noise floor and boost some frequencies.

But like I said earlier, if just using cheap Edifier, Creative, or Audioengine setups, the differences cabling made will be minimal.

Definitely it's not wise to use stock cables that bundle with most of the equipments.
You're right to said that cheap speakers/equipment will sound cheap but beware that there are those
expensive speakers/equipment are actually cheap, peoples are paying for their expensive facial outlook.
Beside looking/listening,/knowing it's better to find out how the internal of items are like before buying.
Lastly, eat healthy too. :)

Some are just paying premium for just the brand name... i dunno which of these audio brands are liddat but it seems that there are always such manufacturers in practically every product type...

Most of hifi brands usually have a flagship product that is obscenely expensive and then their mass market models are much cheaper.

Like take example Cabasse. Their flagship is La Sphere which costs like 300K SGD, but their entry level Minorca is only $1.5K SGD.

How about JBL since you see their products everywhere? Believe it or not, their flagship Project Everest costs eye watering $120K SGD. But their cheapest bookshelves is only like $400 SGD.

Slightly off-topic.

Most of these high-end hi-fi audio equipment also use ready-made parts from other manufacturers.......after a while when you know the few quality OEM part makers in the market, you can save a lot instead of blindly pursuing the atas brands.

Dynaudio is one such manufacturer. Many years back some tweeters used by Sonus Faber are from them.
