Tempting to buy but software update is stopping me to get as their only 2 years

I won't say software update is useless but it is overrated. Many phones still work very well on older android versions and majority of the security issues are user errors (sideloading apps or visiting suspicious sites).

For me, no purple no interest. :s13:

Yes
Just have some common cyber security sense

I see lots of people using phones like samsung S8, S9 which have no more updates perfectly fine

Still, avoid using it for something critical if you can. It's only perfectly fine until you tio. If just casual use (no banking/transactions/singpass etc) should still be fine.

This is a valid concern. I hope Sony can catch up service with other top-tier companies.

Having used top brands, it is not really worth it when updating to next version and get worse battery life. Don't need to name those brands as fans will come out in full force to defend.

To me, it can be a valid concern but not a deal breaker. Not that I support sony's update policy or anything.

As long as the basic calling and texting functions work, it is still fine for average users.
