Speed comparison between zym and Simba in random coffee shop in jurong west.

Huge differences in speed sia, meaning that downloading and uploading of data connection are much faster thus apps run faster and smooth.

Both same same $10. Which one would you go for?

IMHO.
I think should be Google don't make hardware. 🤔
Semantically, Google does make the hardware.

Previously, I recall HTC and LG making many of their Nexus and Pixel phones. It should all be Foxconn now - but Foxconn is a 3rd party manufacturer who makes for many brands including Apple, Huawei, Sony, HMD (which Nokia falls under), Xiaomi, etc... However, I recall Google acquired HTC, so it should be the HTC team doing the designing in-house then outsourcing to Foxconn for the actual manufacture.

I would say Google still have a long way to go to be like Apple.
Contract manufacturers usually just manufacture, good or bad your design, I doubt they care.
Contract manufacturing with design is price vs performance.
Just like donkey years back, Lucky Goldstar manufacture some of Apple monitors. They are good because of Apple stringent QC.

Yep. But Google still is in the hardware business, only because of HTC. And HTC has never made fantastic QC phones. Their phones were okay, but not brilliant in terms of QC. I still remember my TyTN II fondly. It was built like a brick, but it still had issues with its build and QC.

You're right about contract manufacturers not caring - it's not their job.

Frankly, I doubt Google cares about its phones tho. I feel the Pixel, while decent, remains lower priority for them. Google is a software company after all - their hardware offerings were never that great.

I look at the person who heads the hardware and roughly gives myself the idea where things will lead.

Even now, Google needs Samsung because people see Apple vs Samsung and not IOS vs Android.
If no need, why bothered by TizenOS.
I recently ventured into plain Android OS... find it a bit illogical to use vs Samsung OneUI ... perhaps it is me.
Still looking for compelling reasons to get Google.
But Google Home is great.

I still like my Pxel 4a and 6a though. FWIW, what I do enjoy is that I don't have copies of many apps. My biggest gripe is that 3rd party Android phones always have bloatware in their own duplicated apps - Phone, Messages, Calendar, Contacts, Camera, Photo Gallery, etc....

I would say the clever brands will do this - who will know when the US will pull another stunt like Huawei.
That is why OneUI and Samsung Store is very important.

P.S. I buy Samsung because I support Apple - Apple needs competitor. Same as I buy Samsung because I support Google, they just have to remain competitive. 🤣

Google still setting up their ecosystem. Apple got Airtags and Samsung got Smart Tags - Google ish don't have. But I thot I was reading, Samsung's SmartThings can run on Android or Apple. Hope I am not dreaming. 🤔
