pair with a nest hub?
if i got multiple nest hubs/speakers at home, can pair with multiple?

my home has 3 Google speaker, one nest hub display and a few pixel phones.

just need to setup or add the door bell to the current Google home profile.

when door bell is pressed, announcement to all of them.

i, haven't try to talk back to the door bell while someone is pressing the door bell waiting for response.

It is a good product. Only hope they start Singapore subscription plans already.. used to be on their expensive US subscription then was priced per device with inaccurate time stamp, then switched time zone to their Australia subscription...

Also the wired Nest Hello has an internal battery that will KO in about 3+ to 4 years. One of the earliest sign/symptom is when someone presses the doorbell button the unit will go offline.. I just changed mine to a new unit early last year. No regrets, but google should have been more forthcoming about that battery issue, or maybe they also didn expect it then.

Not sure is it still the same. Many people complain in lazada seller thread .
perhaps you were using export set? cos export using china server, will sometimes have issues connecting to server

the one i linked is official local set

i am currently using export set, bought several years ago, when local set was not available, working ok, but a bit of lag

just bought the official local set, will test it when it arrives

Hi, I’ve got a burning question that really needs answering.

Just moved into my new apartment, and was getting ready to install the Unifi G4 Doorbell Pro. I managed to get someone to come by to survey as we were curious as to how the doorbell wiring was done.

The G4 Doorbell Pro I got hold of was the wired version, and comes with the proper transformer.

The engineers dropped by, took a look and said that the wires at the doorbell switch run within the concrete walls, and end directly at the door chime position; in short, the whole doorbell circuit wasn’t connected to the power grid at all.

I’m still a little perturbed by this, and wanted to ask around if this is usual? Basically, we have a set of blue and brown wires running from doorbell switch to chime point, and not connected anywhere else. Am I constrained to only install battery-powered doorbells?

The SLD doesn’t show any of such wiring too, although it does show a lot of “spares”.

this is the norm, I am perturbed that you thought the doorbell wires are live wires.

Well….. first apartment, was basing my experience off my parents’ place where I used to stay at. Noob mistake.

Guess I’ll just have to return the unit and explore other options then :(

U sure he is a engineer?
Yo don need a engineers to do simple doorbell Wiring, unless you are asking him to install a 3pin socket outlet outside your house so that you can plug in the power for the doorbell then he need to drill hole lay cable from your house to maindoor.

To power up a door bell you need a power adapter just like your hp charger.
A existing doorbell switch outside your maindoor is 2 wire to connect a switch just like your light switch. It connect a switch and link into your home and connected to a chime doorbell powered by battery.

If you want to install a video doorbell and wanted a wired powered one. U can choose use the existing doorbell wires then connect the other end to your power adapter. But since the wires is thin wire and super long there will be voltage/current drop so you need to ensure the power adapter have enough power to powered your new doorbell.

The doorbell existing cable is already 2 wires just cut the wiresthen connect to power adapter then plug your power adapter to socket outlet.
Unless nearby no socket outlet or you don want to install the doorbell at tge existing doorbell switch location which is usually at the side of your maindoor. You want the doorbell camera to point directly infrint of the maindoor then you need to lay cable.

But hor, if u can install a socket outlet in-between the main door and main gate. It will be a ideal choice cos we can install IP camera like xiaomi 360 degree can view the whole area.
Then we just use a normal doorbell as doorbell will do. More simple and more reliable.
Currently those video doorbell spoilt very easily and always unconnectable when you want view the live scene. When pple press the bell, the app always coc.k.up cannot connect.

have chance to visit USA and hand carry back a Google nest doorbell battery edition, USD109, good price at Fred Meyer physical store.

setup is easy, my home is with full Google system.
I don't do any drilling and wiring, just use 3M tape to fix it on my main door.

usage impression
1. no notification lag,
2. door bell announcement is responsive ,almost instant
so happen I have parcels to receive and amazon staff are kind enough to press door bell .
I first get the notification of detecting people carry parcels and later door bell announcement, total 2 notifications.

3. battery life, yet to know, on average we get about 5 notifications which video recording taken place.
estimated to last 6 -8 weeks.
I have adjusted the sensitivity to only activate notification when someone Walk really close to my house , this also serve privacy protection in a way, no monitoring of neighbors opening their main door.

4. feature wise, it is handy especially for the capturing zone customization which allows user to sketch which area to capture events of, object detection, and there are objects resolution to define human, animals, parcels, cars.

overall worth the money,

Nest subscription is optional,I didn't subscribe to it.
based on my usage, I am satisfied with instant notification with slow frame rate video notification posted to my Google home app.
that is to say my phone, tablets will get notification if someone going nearby my main door,

the recorded event video clip will last for 3 hours and auto purge by the doorbell if no nest service is subscribed.
for privacy reason, I don't keep video.

well the doorbell does come in with some intelligence, if someone place a parcel and leave and later someone come pick up the parcel and leave, the doorbell emit warning notification of your parcel is missing, pickup.

battery life of my doorbell, left 35% after 5 weeks usage. not too bad, expect 7 weeks of battery life.

will you be able to download to your phone locally those recorded events before they're being purged?

If the power socket is outside main door, wouldn't it be the weak point in any security setup?
