Am looking to buy a colour laser printer (just printer no need scan/copy) for home use. Have read online and seems most recommend HP or Brother.

Based on my budget these 2 are the likely contenders:
Brother HL-L3270CDW about $361
HP 150nw Printer $379

Both have auto duplex printing but Brother is a bit faster. However I notice the HP toners are about $20 cheaper than Brother. Obviously this will make a difference in the long run pricewise since there are 4 different toner colours to replace.

Having said that I see Brother colour toners are rated at 1300 pages vs 700 for HP colour toner so technically Brother toner is cheaper 🤣

Are Brother toner cartridges easy to find in any IT shop compared to HP?

Is there anything else that I should know about HP vs Brother which could influence my choice? In terms of product reliability and tech support perhaps?

I am a mac user but I assume no issues with drivers and compatibility?

Have used only canon inkjets prior to this so totally new to laser šŸ˜…

Don't buy ink type if you print not often. Inkjet printer dry up & maintenance hassle. Refill ink also messy. Laser best if you print not often. If heavy printing then use ink type.

Based on the news of HP printers of late, I would prefer to steer clear myself. You can Google and find them before making a decision.
