I guess they may want to start selling direct in certain locations first. I don’t believe their intention is for a world wide direct selling model though at this stage.
Don't think it's possible. Too much leg work. Rolex have ad at almost every country.
Other brands don't even have. Like nz. There's no Audemars piguet

Doing it in Swiss is smart. Or certain big markets. Like Patek salons

Bucherer is multi brand AD right? Wonder how this affects other brands carried by them…

Basically AD have been using Rolex as a bait for other watches and earn extra the margin from those. Rolex now just pocket all those margin themselves haha.

Maybe this move is to stop lvmh from buying the retail channel. Looks like lvmh son is trying to push their watch. And they’re full of cash

Or maybe it works like our Sg local AD; have an area of mixtures of brands while there is another unit where it sells solely Rolexes / PP?
But if I’m the owner of other brands, after seeing this news I also may feel a bit uncomfortable and may reconsider whether I want to continue letting Bucherer to sell my watches. Since Bucherer is now owned by Rolex, it is reasonable to expect that Bucherer will place more focus to sell Rolex watches than the other brands.

There is no Rolex to sell. Rolex is not their competitor

Huh what talking you
Maybe it’s just me but I have never walked into any AD and say want to buy an Omega or JLC and the SA push me to buy a Rolex to build profile instead. Always the other way round. I don’t see why Rolex tell Burcherer SA “hey, prioritise our watches please, it’s not moving, stop promote seamaster over submariner”.

do agree your analysis is logical. just find the situation a bit strange. It’s like Bucherer now owned by Rolex and Bucherer still get to sell other brand watches. So it’s a bit like Rolex ownself controlling sales of not just their own watches but also other brands. Then allowing bundle of other brands, Rolex is like also relying on other brands to sell their own watches. Then the other brands also like LL must see Rolex 脸色。a bit weird. Lol 😂
