What sites do you use to book accommodations?

which is consistently the cheapest?

So far always find agoda cheapest for asia (rmb to go to agoda bank card page for better discounts. E.g. Dbs/uob etc.)

For western countries, agoda may not have a good selection of hotels. In those cases, i would use hotels.com

I use google to compare the rates so far I booked most of my stay in expedia using dbs altitude link. There a few dollars mark up to get the 6mpd thou.. Which I think is ok..

Agoda always spam me with email on discounts but once I go to the site the promo code is invalid.. if I find a cheaper deal I will use citi link to get 7mpd.

Did anyone try to use price match on agoda/expedia before?

Prices do increase before discount after using bank or shopback link

Usually i open incognito tab to compare prices with bank discount vs without bank discount (with agoda internal discount coupon).

Cannot stack agoda discount with bank discount btw.

Usually still cheaper with bank discount links.

I also compare between bank links. discount vary with bank also.
E.g. I see dbs cheaper than hsbc link.

Hotels.com, prefer to see total cost of stay rather than per night basis (agoda). So far haven't really find much price discrepancy between. With the hotel reward, price is effectively about 8% lower.

Hotels.com easier to get free nights, especially with business trips. 10 nights get 1 free.

But I don't really prefer Agoda as they set different prices depending on which link you click on.

Expedia is getting very uncompetitive in recent years

A quick way to compare can be using aggregators like Tripadvisor

for agoda, make sure to use credit card without CCY fee even if choose to pay in sgd.... they are not based in singapore. always kanna 1% CCY if use citibank credit card...but with Amaze no CCY fee

For agoda, dont use mastercard if you do not want to incur additional charges. no such issue with visa.

Ah ok. So this is the reason. Cos my Mastercard also Kanna CCY with apple subscription, but not my visa card. Now I know why le.

just recall, I was using OCBC Visa and also slapped with the CCY for apple subscription... so doesnt means VISA will not have CCY leh..

I used Ocbc visa (the 365 card) and I never had additional charges beyond what was reflected in the agoda app

Master and Visa both can have the DCC depending on the merchant's place of transaction. For Agoda, visa is transacted in SG but master is transacted overseas. Not sure why you bring in apple which is off topic.
