I'll share what I know; other Bros can chime in too.

1. I don't use Android Auto, so can't comment on this.

2. Google Play can be installed and used properly (unlike Huawei phones). Not sure about OCBC App here, as I use iPhone for all banking matters (yes, like some Bros, I carry both Android and iOS phones).

3. The animation effect that I asked earlier was the home screen page, like when you move from one screen to another. In the global rom, it's called transition effects. There's none in the China rom apparently, or maybe it's not available on foldable phones 🤔

4. So far so good for me from Lazada. I've been lucky that the phones had no issues, so no RMA needed. I'll always look at the shop ratings and reviews, and usually they'll also indicate (shop) warranty period. I believe they'll help with RMA if need be, but there's always a risk to buy export sets. However, there's not much choice currently, as the XM3 doesn't have global release (yet).

5. I had a hard time previously with Samsung and Pixel watches. I couldn't get them to work with XM2 at all. Then I decided to switch to the Huawei watch, and there's no issue because it uses the Huawei health app to connect. The Huawei watch works well with XM3 too (of course you'll miss out on Samsung Pay, etc).

6. I use GBoard and it's fine. The Swiftkey issue mentioned was (I reckon) due to the miui optimization (leave it on and it'll be fine).

7. Think the 4 camera setup will depend on individuals. I'm not particular about that so I'm fine with it.

Hope this helps.

Thanks bro, this is very helpful!

Based on my experience with Mi 11 ultra china rom.. my answer.. but it may not be the same for fold 3... i am not sure..

I can answer a few of your question,
1. Confirmed AA won't work
5. I managed to set up my GW4 onto my 11ultra china rom . The way to setup is different, i don't quite remember you will need to install wear os, galaxy wear, Samsung health then you add the watch using Samsung health instead of the usual way. More or less like that, but actual dun quite remember.. you may want to search google.
6. As long you don't off the miui optimization. it will work.. you can see hpchanger reply on this.
Thank you!

Yes, honor v2 win on the global release, but i heard you got to wait till next yr and not even sure if they will be releasing in Singapore. I don't find Singapore Honor support is good, send question on FB, there is no response, unlike Malaysia page.

I also someone that prefer wireless charging, hence it win me as well... and i been using xiaomi for quite a lot time... people are complaining on miui.. but i don't find it bad
for me, i dun use wireless charging , ask urself how many time u use it .

Yeah, everyone has their own preference, for me, i use it everyday.. it's just a convenient thing.. also does not mean it's a must.

Agreed. I don't use wireless charging now on my Samsung Fold 3 because it is slow. But with the XM3's 50W wireless charging, I can totally see myself using it because it is much faster than Samsung's.

this mix 3 vs huawei fold, which is better.
I'm assuming you are asking about the Huawei Mate X3.

I used the Mate X3 previously, but decided to change to XM3 when it became available.

Can't say which is better; will have to depend on personal preferences.

They both have FAST wireless charging. And I like the Huawei battery protect function (like Samsung) where they can stop charging at 90%. It's such a convenient and useful function that I wish all smartphone brands will adopt.

Built-wise they're both solid. Size-wise Mate X3 is smaller and lighter, and more comfortable to hold and use for longer periods. But they are using last year's chipset. However, they have official water resistance rating.

Think it'll be an even closer comparison between Mate X3 and Honor Magic V2 (similar size and weight for those who prefer smaller phones).

Ultimately, the most crucial thing about Mate X3 is the lack of Google apps. That was the breaking point for me, so I switched to XM3. Thankfully, Google apps work well (for me) on a China rom phone.

So, if you don't need to use Google apps and prefer smaller phones, Mate X3 is a good choice. Otherwise, will depend on one's preference on the user interface, etc.

Actually, just like the battery protect function (Huawei and Samsung, etc), wireless charging is convenient and useful, especially when it's fast.

So, to quote "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it" 😉

I also have no issues with miui. And I particularly like their implementation of the dual apps and second space 👍

Hmmm speaking of second space, is it similar to Samsung's Secure Folder? Is that triggered by a separate app or icon to access the "hidden" files and apps?

Yep, it's similar to Samsung's implementation.

Once the second space is created, there'll be an icon named 'switch' (in both spaces' home screens) to facilitate the switching. Fast and intuitive.

I had been thinking of the X3... the only thing i forgo X3 is becoz of the payment app.. I find payment app (gpay) is important to me.. I don't want to bring CC, ezlink card out.. so this is a deal breaker for me... if there is a payment app that work in Singapore... then X3 is fine with me

Yep, from what I read in the Mate X3 thread previously, there was no way to use GPay at all (I had to bring back my cards 🤣). Gmail, YouTube, all these still could download and use (via APK).

So, if GPay is important to you, can try XM3. If you want a smaller form, Honor V2 might be a good choice. A pity that Huawei kena from the Trump administration.

I am also considering, but flip-flopping between Honor Magic v2 and XM3.
After watching a Youtube video (【隔壁老謝】榮耀Magic V2 vs. 三星Galaxy Z Fold5:超薄,不是擺爛的理由!), I started leaning towards XM3 again.

So far I see the list price of the base model 8999 RMB translate to SGD 1676. Add GST 8%, that's SGD 1810. In Lazada or Shopee, it's selling at maybe SGD 2048 which is SGD 237 more compared to buying it locally (if you travel there).

Another thing still trying to find out is whether the Samsung Watch will work (minus the ECG/BP). I saw comments that it is not easy to setup.

Oh, one other thing, does this support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in Singapore? I saw comments that v2 doesn't and Honor is working with local telcos to enable it.

If you getting locally, wait for the upcoming 9.9. Sure can get cheaper than the list price, for the Samsung watch, as mentioned, i did manage to connect previously.. but seriously no idea for the XM3. It's definitely not as simple as the usual way. ECG/BP can make it work with some mod, need to read up. I managed to make it work in my last Mi11 ultra china rom.

Thanks for the quick reply. Any idea on the VOLTE? I saw some comments that lack of VOLTE would be an issue when our telco shuts down the 3G next year.

2. Make all the installed app icons look the same as the applied theme?
I am not sure if this helps, but I am using Lawnchair launcher + Lawnicons pack, all the icons in the drawer are the same, circle icons but when I share something, e.g. links to WA, then it's a square icons again lol.
