Do we need to upload passport photo to wechat? Under my wallet>ID info it shows To be Verified.

But when I go to money tab, it allows me to generate the qr code for merchant to scan and deduct payment from the card I linked
I am in the same situation. I have the QR code and my ID is pending verification. As long as I have the QR code, I have no intent to get ID verification done.

Not tried it yet. I may want to try it here with Chinese online retailers. It is not life and death, so if it fails in China, I will resort to cash. Not going to give my data to them if I can help it.

Darned. Attempted to scan a QR code and was confronted by a message that says my ID has to be verified. I'll leave it at that.

Wechat got option to scan qr code? I only have the option to display a qr code for which the cashier in singapore stare at me and gave me a wtf look when i ask her to scan my qr code

I also talked to alipay cso and it is damn retarded. She told me singapore verified account cannot use alipay to pay merchant in singapore. But it will work if we go to china

Where did you try?
I'm trying to check if my wechat pay can work or not.

I tried. Does not work. Same as alipay, we singaporeans cannot use wechat pay to pay in singapore.

Hence no way for you to know if it will work unless you land in china

I did not set out to use WeChat Pay to pay in Singapore. It does not work this way. To try if you can pay in China, see post #944., which is how I concluded #950.

The message is:

I just uploaded my ID for verification. Message said it will take 3 days.

Will update.

P/S: My YouTrip card is still tied to my WeChat (Pay) account.

I tried binding my YouTrip card to wechat and Alipay. Seems ok.

Will add Trust card and ICBC union pay cc as back up.
