Menara Tower or PETRONAS Twin Towers? But go up Genting still the best. Take note that Awana Skyway will be closed tmrw until next fri for maintenance and the old Genting Skyway will be in ops. Bus/cable car tix prices still the same but it will be harder to access Genting Premium Outlets and Chin Swee Temple. Pirate taxi will chop U Gao Gao and Grab/Gojek coverage there is sparse. You can see wild macaques roaming around the Gohtong Jaya station though 🐒

*edit: can also look at Batu Caves and the Indian temple there if you don't mind climbing steep stairs. No **** there to sexually harass you, mostly tourists and local Indian vendors but beware of scammers. Don't take anything freely offered to you by anyone and beware of the free roaming macaques as they will snatch your belongings for food!

See my above on why this is not advisable from tmrw till next fri
ok, I just brought the normal tng card, didn't realise it quite troublesome to top up at the train station using cash and qr only. the train ride itself wasn't that pleasant .. perhaps I am too used to what is around in Singapore. I took to the end station and realised there is a breakdown between another and have to take shuttle bus.. on I was trying to go to another station but was told it ends in between and have to change halfway. the train will take like double the time to close the door? the train at one platform serves two different lane, ABIT confusing.

btw I am heading towards Sri petaling, I might take a bus to klia from Bandar tasik sepetang as I see there is a bus terminal there.

My KL hotel booked. Now dilemma between Luxury coach or KkkL coach.
Having previously looked at Luxury Coach, their schedule looks shorten after C19...

KKKL's alright from my MLK>KUL>MLK trips with them... IIRC also MLK>SG...

Maybe look at their pickup point/s too? Unless both are direct without other pickup points, would be faster? And drop-off too...

Both seem ok. As ok with both their pick-up in sg and both end at Berjaya Times Square as well. Like not much difference between them. Maybe I try luxury on the way there and KkkL on the way back. 😂

Aeroline is good but I don’t like the pick up point in Sg. Transtar sorry I avoid. Luxury coach I have tried.

Haha I was just at Sri Petaling, now in MidValley area shopping!

The line you took towards Tasik Bandar Selatan Bus Terminus is called Sri Petaling line and there is a disruption there due to cracks in one of the LRT pillars. Other LRT/MRT lines don't have this problem. Use GMaps to plan your journey and it will advise accordingly.

Depending on where your hotel is I would take the bus from either KL Sentral or TBS. TBS is nearer to airport ofc but you have to travel there and it's more crowded than Sentral.

oh, I just found a new hotel furama Bukit Bintang and it's quite cool and affordable, it is connected to lalaport and very near to Heng tuah station. it is a 4 star hotel and it only cost me $66 dollar for a double bed room inclusive of breakfast. apart from Petaling Street,Lalaport, Sri Petaling which other area is hip and cool with more Chinese population? for Sri petaling once I exit looks quite ulu to me, I just left immediately.

mid valley is it the same as the one in JB? or better?

Go check out Bangsar area, alot of bars and cafes. The nightlife there more chill than Bukit Bintang area which has alot of streetwalkers and touts. Since you're in BB I suggest to go check out the Jalan Alor food street. Most KL spots only tend to come alive at night, Sri Petaling looks ulu only cos it's Sun afternoon. Search GMaps for pasar malam and see which one is the closest to you if you like that sort of thing. You can also go up to Genting - SkyAvenue Highline where there are bars and live band performance. I'm headed there later tonight to check in hotel and go gamble 💰

My friend stayed at Furama. Yea she told me connected but hotel is old with rundown rooms. If one doesn’t mind is ok.

Just grab direct to airport, 65 RM +tolls if any. Alternative, grab to KL Sentral train station, take the KLIA express to airport.

Most convenient and safest is Grab but do take note of the rush hours in KL and book accordingly. KL Sentral bus bay where you take the KLIA coach is quite rundown and may be scary to people who are too used to SG bus interchanges so do take note.

Surge pricing and the chance of getting caught in jams increases during these hours:

Morning work crowd: 6am - 9am
Evening pangkang crowd: 5pm - 8pm

Alternatively you can take KLIA train direct from KL Sentral - https://www.kliaekspres.com/products-fares/klia-transit/
It's cheaper but you have to get to KL Sentral first. Bonus is it's not affected by jams or surge pricing.

Scary as in rundown rather than scary as in suspicious characters around? :look:

Can ask you guys whether it's safe to use Agoda to book Msia Airline flight or use Msia Air website better??
eg. if Agoda is slightly cheaper?

Also, anyone booked with Firefly before?
when using Agoda, i see a same timing flight with MH604 at 09:55 but it's Firefly FY7322. I googled and it seems like it's the same flight.
however, it's selling much cheaper (like $30 difference) than Msia Airline.
Anybody can advise? Is it actually the same flight? Can book anot? ><
Thanks alot!

Rundown and sometimes got Pirate teksi aka bawang car come up to you and ask 'KLIA? GENTING?'. They like to prey on lone travellers. Then there are the homeless ppl who go sleep near the ticket counters. Some cfm on drugs. Guys like me mostly used to it alr.. go up Genting even worse. Got OKT come up to you and ask 'abang Mau awek tak?' - bro you want girlfriend? Some of them selling hotel room, some pretend to sell but after you paid them the keycard cannot unlock the room..f**king scammers 😂😂😂

Then there are the PRC scammers.. they come up to you say they lost all their money in casino, ask you treat them to a meal. In the end they offer to prostitute themself, ask you for a loan and promise they will pay you back.. aiyo my head can spin at how many ways they try to scam you for money.

Ladies if U don't wanna meet these nonsense kind of ppl, just take Grab or train. Grab is the safest because they got a safety feature in their app for MY and the drivers have undergone background check. They also choose to drive with Grab because the passengers that take other apps like Gojek etc. are quite shady and might rob or scam them.

Thanks for the insight into the situation there...

@Joelleyuan I'd say your best bet would be to Grab all the way then :s22:

can advise me on my post #797 regarding Firefly flight?
Thanks alot 🙏
I've never flown Firefly and for MH, not for a couple of decades already.

I recall reading something about their affiliation and Google results got the following:
Firefly (stylised as firefly) is a low-cost carrier subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines

It reminded me of an airline (was it SQ?) and its subsidiary incident, so I guess you could end up with either one of these flights...

I think one of the other guys at least, would be in a better position to advise you on this. :o

It's not always bad lah. Sometimes you get friendly Grab drivers, can tcss with them. Sometimes you get locals asking you in Malay where is the nearest iTea in a rural shopping mall, then you tell them sorry can't speak much Malay cos I sinkie Chinese, then end up teasing them 'eh drink too much bbt later potong kaki'. Gotta be street smart to sieve out the bad from the good 😉
