Did you transfer to IBKR by any chance? How do you go about getting IBKR to issue an ACAT if you dont mind sharing?

yes i did. quite fast. within 2-3 days i can see my holdings in ibkr already including cash balances.

steps :
1. login to ibkr portal
2. go to Transfer & Pay --> Transfer positions
3. click Incoming - Transfer assets to your ibkr account
4. choose United states
5. select ACATS
6. choose broker (TD A )
7. Enter TDA Account number and other details.
8. Choose All Assets. (Easier else need to upload excel with asset details )

what i was surprised is they will also transfer all cash balances in TDA

Submitted request on 26 Oct to syfetrade on transfer but no response from them yet. Think need to wait 10-14 working days..

I do remember TD ameritrade account opening takes like ages . mine took like 2 mths

Ibkr doesn't charge while TD is waiving transfer out charges for a period of time.

No. Firstrade Securities is regulated by FINRA, the U.S. regulator for broker-dealers. Firstrade is also a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), so its accounts are SIPC insured.

Well how does zero commissions sound? That's Firstrade's offer. But since TD Ameritrade will no longer be available to retail investors shortly you'll have to find another broker. It doesn't matter if that broker is less attractive than TD Ameritrade used to be if TD Ameritrade is no longer available. S$1 plates of chicken rice no longer exist either (as far as I know). That doesn't mean a S$2 plate of chicken rice is bad.

in the process of opening IBKR account to transfer over.. seems like can't transfer cash over to the other platforms. too much hassle so just do IBKR 1 shot everything go over.

No, probably not. I would investigate Interactive Brokers and Firstrade as possible alternatives.

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between Net Personal Assets and Net Financial Assets for accredited investors?

Net Personal Assets = things like property or stocks or gold bar?

Net Financial Assets= strictly $$ in ur bank account for eg?

They receive small payments from firms that pay for retail investors' order flows. For example, Citadel Securities pays brokers for order flows.
