Thanks Bro! Turning off Miui optimization works, Whatsapp now instantaneous.

But oddly, after turning off Miui optimization, applying wallaper to the lock screen and using Microsoft SwiftKey keyboard does not work. For the latter, when i reboot, the keyboard will go back to Sogou.

I have the same issue as well where the keyboard is defaulted to Sogou and other pre-installed keyboard (forgot the name) after reboot, until I uninstall the keyboard then it will stick to Gboard.

I am not sure if this helps, but I am using Lawnchair launcher + Lawnicons pack, all the icons in the drawer are the same, circle icons but when I share something, e.g. links to WA, then it's a square icons again lol.

The reason to turn it off in the first place was due to concern of notification delay. However, I have not noticed any delay after turning it back on.

The only thing I'm missing now is the home screen transition effects. If have, the phone would feel like a global rom release (to me)

No worries bro, you mean by turning on miui optimization, the icon will follow whatever icon packs you set? no more squarish icons? Interesting.

For home screen transition, I don't really use it because I feel it will make overall experience slow but to each their own ba I believe

Yep, by turning on the miui optimization, the icons will follow whatever icon packs that are set. No more funny business (such as squarish icons).

Plus, the keyboard issues (Swiftkey, default to Sogou, etc) will also be resolved (in my experience).

As for the home screen transition, yeah it's a personal preference. Instead of sliding from screen to screen, I like to see the cube effect. And usually in the developer options, I'll set all 3 animation scales to 0.5x, so it's still fine.

I am also considering, but flip-flopping between Honor Magic v2 and XM3.
After watching a Youtube video (【隔壁老謝】榮耀Magic V2 vs. 三星Galaxy Z Fold5：超薄，不是擺爛的理由！), I started leaning towards XM3 again.

So far I see the list price of the base model 8999 RMB translate to SGD 1676. Add GST 8%, that's SGD 1810. In Lazada or Shopee, it's selling at maybe SGD 2048 which is SGD 237 more compared to buying it locally (if you travel there).

Another thing still trying to find out is whether the Samsung Watch will work (minus the ECG/BP). I saw comments that it is not easy to setup.

Oh, one other thing, does this support Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in Singapore? I saw comments that v2 doesn't and Honor is working with local telcos to enable it.

Thanks, struggled for a while, and ultimately decided not to go with this. The China ROM doesn't work with two things that I depend on - Android Auto, Samsung Watch.

Got my Fold 3 this week. Feels like a whole new machine from the Fold 2 despite looking 95% alike Really glad they fixed some of the nonsense bugs like NFC defaulting to Mi wallet all the time. MIUI optimizations look alot more usable on Fold 3 too.

Still trying to iron out some teething issues at the moment such as work profile messages not displaying the preview messages (personal apps are OK). If anyone had found a way to configure notifications properly on work profile, MS Teams & Outlook to be specific , could you please share? I have tried configuring it with and without MIUI Optimization turned on but no luck.
These message previews used to be displaying fine on my Fold 2, but I can't seem to get it right this time.

EDIT 2: I could fix Outlook by reinstalling the app , but Work Teams continues to have a message preview issue.

In addition, MIUI optimization continues to produce delay notification for all apps.
I have did the following
- Set App battery saver to 'No restrictions'
- Lock apps
-Allow autostart

Turning off MIUI optimization will solve the delay issue, but icons & animations aside some added functions like separate inner & other screen rotation lock won't work as described.

Any bros here can share if how you successfully avoided the notification delay with MIUI optimization? Turning on performance mode did not help too.

Not sure if the trick I used previously still work, which i assumed it still work... this method is suggested by Zhutou and it works quite well for me when i am using mi11 ultra.

2 weeks on and I've yet to find any native solution to the notification issues with MIUI optimization on. Its a real downer though given every other aspect of the phone was fantastically designed and the camera's software + hardware improvements are a huge leap from the Fold 2.

Although GMS, Google Play store is available on Fold 3, the underlying China ROM aspects are still very limiting. Chinese applications typically do very well with little or no delay (eg. Wechat). Apps that are not made for China market, (eg. Whatsapp, FB, Insta etc) are likely not included in their inbuilt notification 'whitelist' in the system, thus they get snoozed as well when the screen goes completely off. Turning off MIUI optimization may fix that, but it drops certain features like separate internal & external screen rotation lock, which drives you crazy when switching between camera preview on the internal & external screen. Unfortunately I do not have the time to do any rooting whatsoever, so to resolve these notification issues so I've moved most of my social media chat apps on to my work centric phone.

Overall its still a very fun phone to have and the large screen is really enjoyable for media consumption, I'm using the fold 3 as a portable tablet rather than a phone these days.

Called them and they said they couldn't detect any malware and asked me to reset my phone to factory settings. This is crazy. I wouldn't want to set up my phone all over again.

I have not installed any 3rd party app at all. Only from Google Playstore.

This didn't happen until the latest update.
Could it be because our phone is loaded with Chinese phone bloatwares?

Any genius knows how to resolve this please let me know. Very much appreciated.

I having same error, malware alert. I call DBS, the staff call me to do factory reset...crazy. They will inform the technical support to contact me. Now waiting for their call.
