Hi should I get Crucial P5 Plus at $93 or WD SN850X at $115? Both are gen 4 right?

Main priority is compatibility and reliability.
another choice is SK Hynix Platinum P41 or top up a bit for Samsung 990 Pro, the price difference between 980 Pro is small.

I don't understand the logic of trying to cheap out on China brands to the extent that one would go for a totally unheard of China brand and risk it being 90% fake product.
It is not as if getting a more mainstream brand like 90% of the chinese do doesn't give you substantial savings.
Then when one get cheated because he goes for the abnormally priced product (that is way below the BOM of a product) he goes to forums and complain.
A fool and his money is soon parted.

i like Samsung cloning software...its the easiest to use compared to the other brands. WD cloning was also OK. Crucial one did not work for me somehow (could be my laptop issue though as it was cloning the original laptop image)

Lazada selling this with voucher at $260.80, used my coins to lower the price to $251.33.

For 2TB? FYI SSD prices have went back up a lot.
Example Samsung 2TB past few months were selling around $16X.
Now rose back above $200.

1TB wise lucky for me I got one around $70 at Challenger when the prices
were cheap for Samsung 970 EVO Plus.
Now rose back to $119 which is a lot.

Maybe because of demand so they are raising prices to make sure
enough stock as there was a period because of low price.
Hard to find a Samsung SSD.

If you ask me whether SSD will drop again, maybe but not too soon.
Especially since Samsung 990 pro just release their 4TB model.
Maybe when the 4TB model price drop than others will follow.

But that is only a if only.

I bought 4TB

I got 1 or 2 512GB nvme and 1 2TB external nvme but seldom use.

Now price dropped to my comfortable range, so I'm getting one to use with y iPhone my coming trip.
After the trip, I will copy out my NAS photos to clean up the duplicates....last time NAS crashed and lots of duplicate photos after recovering.

Lexar NM790 (internatonal market) is Lexar ARES (china market)

Bought it because online reviews seems good and price ok.
Dramless use less power for my phone.

Not gonna use it for long term.
