Ok here are the first 2 speed test. I'll do more on the weekend. I'm working tomorrow so I need to get some sleep.

Are you using Poco F5 for the test?

There is a network acceleration option that allows the use of both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time to get faster speeds.

Yes I'm aware. I haven't had time to tweak the router settings yet. For now test on each band. This router can have up to several bands at 1 time 2.4ghz, 5ghz, 5ghz game,2.4ghz iot and 5ghz iot.

Considering the phone has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 chip with a peak wifi speed of 3.6Gbps, your 1.6Gbps is already quite good. Wifi operates on half duplex, the peak download speed when halved is unlikely to exceed 2Gbps. Furthermore, this chip is supposed to support wifi 6E under 6Ghz, but the firmware has not permitted that band yet. So those peak download speeds should be available only under 6Ghz in future. You can try combining 2.4Ghz + 5Ghz to your phone and see if it runs faster, cos I think network acceleration needs to use a different band, it will not take two 5Ghz bands.

Those who signed up the trial with a simba line, is billing handled all through existing account?

Yes the day you collect the ONT they will top up the $80 to the wallet. My mom is using that line so no need to worry for the next 8 months.

I've tried the acceleration function however a mixed bag result highest 1.7Gbps with or without the acceleration.

Almost reaching 2Gbps but the upload....

For wireless and 2x2 AX 160MHz channel bandwidth client on the 5GHz, the download speed is kind of hitting the limit already. Something is wrong with the upload speed.

What is the wireless router used for this testing? I tend to think you have a pretty decent router.

It will be good to test with a wired connection. A cheap USB 3 to 2.5G adapter can be used.

I believe SIMBA is using GPON ONT, so the theoretical max download speed is 2.488Gbps and upload speed is 1.244Gbps. Practical speed will be lower (say about 2.37Gbps download and 1.1x Gbps upload).

Thanks for the updates. Am curious:

is it supposed to be symmetrical up/down speeds?

under "responsiveness", are those ping times in ms?
Yes it's in ms. The upload speed is a mystery. The highest I get is around 750+Mbps. It fluctuates a lot.
are you testing your phone or simba ?

better to use ethernet to run the test
Using phone. I will test once I get a 2.5gbps adapter soon.

I'm using the Ruijie X60Pro or the english marketing name is Reyee RG-E6. Came across it on taobao.com whilst searching for a router with 2.5G wan port to use with Simba. Did the research so took a gamble.

Yes it's a pretty good router for the price($114) even cheaper during 12.12. Still testing the features and such and it's good enough to cover 2 floors with excellent signal strength.

The upload speed I can get up to 750+Mbps wireless and on my mini PC wired averages 950+Mbps. Hopefully next week can test with the 2.5G usb adapter.

not only the speed. latency is super high. my cheapo phone with cheapo router with cheapo internet plan can always go below 4ms

the latency is quite bad. so is the jitter.

using my 6 year old 1+5T, even going thru a vpn (endpoint out of sg, therefore also using an overseas test server), my latency and jitter is much better. I think there is something not right in the setup or the simba network.

(edit: to clarify and avoid confusion, I'm on the m1 500Mbps plan, so speed will be way lower than yours - simba didn't contact me for the trial. i'm just addressing the issue of latency/ping times and jitter. apologies if i caused any confusion)
