2x1gbps ports
Its limited at the ont/onr.

Industries standard native speed should be at 2.5Gbps.
This need isp provide us with 2.5gbps ports onr/ont.

Actually SIMBA is providing a GPON ONT with a single 2.5Gbe port, unlike the other ISPs' GPON ONT/ONR for their 2Gbps/2.5Gbps plan (dual 1Gbps plan, or aggregated 2Gbps/2.5Gbps plan).

That is why I call SIMBA 2.5Gbps plan as a "true" 2.5Gbps plan whereas Whizcomms' aggregated 2.5Gbps plan as a "fake" 2.5Gbps plan.

It seems to me SIMBA backend may need some tuning to improve the speed.

I have been on simba since Dec 15 and it's been good so far. I didn't experience any downtime when I'm at home using it and other family members didn't say anything about it either. There is a user here who posted saying there was a downtime early in morning 1am or something. You have to look for it several pages back.

I was on m1 no contract since June and when Simba was available in the area,I signed up. The first week I was the only one using it to see how it goes before I let the other members use it. Once that was done and all is ok only then did I cancel the m1 which was on 31st dec.

Here is the start on the simba journey.

Mind if I ask you a couple of qns?
You were with M1 6 months without contract, you need pay extra?
After switching to Simba, did you miss the home fixed line?
(For me, I can go without the home fixed line, but is my mom using it most of the time, i hate to take it away from her)

Did not pay extra it was the same $30.18 till the end.

I've never really used home fixed line all this while but when I called in to terminate the cs did ask if i wanted to port the fixed line out or something like that. So I suggest to enquire m1 about the fixed line if you want to keep it but just terminate broadband.

I'm using the Ruijie X60Pro or the english marketing name is Reyee RG-E6. Came across it on taobao.com whilst searching for a router with 2.5G wan port to use with Simba. Did the research so took a gamble.

Yes it's a pretty good router for the price($114) even cheaper during 12.12. Still testing the features and such and it's good enough to cover 2 floors with excellent signal strength.

The upload speed I can get up to 750+Mbps wireless and on my mini PC wired averages 950+Mbps. Hopefully next week can test with the 2.5G usb adapter.

Can share the link to this?

How many 2.5Gbps ports does this have? Also does this router has Parentel Control?

Nice! huge upgrade from 500mbps to 2.5gbps. And the best part is pay lesser!
There are 2 types of payment quarterly(60+53+50+60(deposit)) and annually(240+53+50).

As I signed up very early on I paid a total of $273 upfront including 3 months subscription and 3 months deposit but I get back $80 credit to my Simba mobile.

They still need to fine tune the network. Hopefully they get better.

You can do a search x60pro锐捷 on taobao.com. Use the app is better than on desktop. The lowest is I've seen is ¥435 without shipping. Better to wait for promo.

It has a 2.5G wan port, 4 gigabit lan ports and parental control.

I'm actually planning to buy a 2.5gbps wan router from GL inet about this week. It's about $180 sgd after tax. Seems pretty feature rich as well with OpenWRT and wireguard as compared to it's competitors.
