Always got the 2 extremes, some want their kids to take care of them when they are old, give them money etc. Some want to leave their money to their kids when they pass away as legacy. I personally don't subscribe to these "traditional" views, I expect nothing from my kids when i am old and I also do not plan to leave anything for them when I pass away. That's why I plan to have enough money for myself and also spend it all away as I age. If I got leftover, leave everything to wife. If wife got leftover then leave to kids.
Imagine if someone is to pull the same "no need to justify your plan, just accept that everyone's view/plan is different". The end.

yah i kind of agree that DINK is most efficient way to FI ...

i am most screwed now...with 3 kids ....
Hello... what do you mean by screwed... do you realise you now have 3 permanent employees? By the way, if you make them work for you after school hours, it's not child labour.

Since I'm trading, I will train each one of them to trade one strategy and earn at least 60% p.a. ROIC. All the money will pay for their current expenses, future education, and mommy's retirement.

Exactly, thats why I said his story is incredible, if true. Not implying that it is untrue. But it really sounds like a fairy tale.

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt since the screenshot looks authentic. If not that then he is just a weirdo who took the trouble to concoct a screenshot to post on a message board.

Believe me....I was as shock as you guys that I can literally profit off a 7 figure sum from the FIRST shares that I ever bought. Im not surprised if u all don't believe me. Even my parents don't believe that and I had to literally show them my account to prove to them.

back in 2021, also suddenly got many such success stories about 10X-100X meme/spac etc haha

SEA Limited was one of the darlin, now cui till max lol
I knew of those.... that's why I already cashed out 500k of shares so far....so even if my existing portfolio shrinks to 0.... I'll be sad but not gonna cry over it. 500k profit out of an initial capital of less than 15k.....I don't think I can ever repeat such success..

$2m excluding home is decent for 1 pax to live a simple life.
For Single person, I would encourage them to travel and explore low cost locations. Not only do they save money but also enjoy life experiences travelling to different countries. Make use of the strong Singapore dollar. Rent out HDB and go and live in more natural locations, eat fresher food and be closer to nature.

Lmao.....at our current times...2mil is not enough to live off till I die....

2 million will be more than enough unless you want to live an high end life if you have :
1) CPF Life ERS for your basic needs (Single or two ERS for couple)
2) SA amount compounding over earning 4% every year.
2) Home fully paid off.
3) 2 million invested and compounding and taking a withdrawal rate that caters for your "wants".

You can also rent out your home and live in different countries.

It all goes back to what is your lifestyle and cost of your lifestyle.

A higher lifestyle requires higher amount.

Needs to be adventurous character.
For men should be OK but not ideal for ladies.
