gonna go china for a trip, was thinking of getting the magic honor 6 pro there. is it possible to download playstore with china ones? any restriction anyone knows

Malaysia site indicate its coming soon, probably this month. I only worry if it doesn't launch in SG like M4p, darn SH may block the 5G service again. My M4p get 5G instantly when I'm in MY, even the $10 zero1 plan connected to 5G but NOT SH.

I wonder if this happen to other M4p user from the Big3 telco? I'm gonna port out all 8 SH lines soon, been paying >$300 every months. Times to move away from the blood sucker when it even charge $5 for basic service like caller ID.

this one i don't think anyone can say with certainty since this is the first time in a while that the Chinese version of Honor phones has basic Google framework built in. saw it being mention in chinese reviewers back then.

Also on their CN site... But i've not seen any video/review showing this process though since most of them are from China to begin with and have no use for google services. And i think not many will import from China since it's not exactly cheap, and Honor launches their phones outside of China too. So isn't really worth the extra hassle and better to just wait.

No idea what restrictions there will be if you do get the CN version and install play store, but my guess is that in the best case scenario, it'll be like other CN phones from oppo, vivo, xiaomi where it won't support google location history tracking in the background, won't have android auto, and will probably need to let apps run in the background without restrictions to get immediate notifications (likely because a lot of apps in playstore are probably using google firebase cloud messaging for push notifications and the "basic" google services in these phones doesn't include that? just my guess though). worse case scenario, even more stuff/apps might not work. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

tl;dr, recommend to wait local launch.

Better check if CN set will support our local network VOLTE since 3G will cease in July.

Douyin i see got people complain quite lag even though running on sd gen 3 chips.

Other complains are the figureprint biometric sit abit too low on the screen. The phone is also top heavy due to the camera so run a risk of phone slipping out of your hand when using

Magic5 Pro RRP is $1261, I feel Magic6 Pro might be price between $1.4k to $1.45k.

dont have much hope. china set is already 1495 by a msia importer. i suspect it will be 1599 or 1699

Not sure if want to get this now. The 5x not so good. The only good camera is its main. It doesnt beat vivo x100 pro. Alot of reviews now. I highly doubt the firmware can solve hardware issues. Only good thing about this phone rn is its battery.

Vivo not running on SD processor.

Overall usage wise camera I feel x100 pro is better than magic 6 pro but real world test 8 gen 3 better.

You can consider xiaomi 14 ultra instead.
