3 different hotels in Tokyo? A bit unnecessary, All the places easily accessible by train. Heck, even Yokohama is easily reach from Tokyo.
Unfilled day can do day trip to further places like Hakone, Kamakura etc

yeah that is true. but the reason to change the first hotel is because they don't have my rates available and to extended on their standard rate for that 3 days is at $700+ SGD a night. i don't think many of us can afford a $700+ a night hotel even if can afford not many are willing to pay that price. ( $2K+ for 3 nights i can buy and eat a lot of nice food there )

So i decided to change to the 2nd hotel which is the cheapest amount the hotel group and i have a friend singaporean friend who works there and with my membership i get upgraded to a suite with free breakfast and lounge access.

Reason to stay in yokohama is because there is a hotel that i been wanting to try.

And moving back to tokyo after yokohama im trying out a fairly new hotel which open october last year.

I'm booking hotels through BOOKING.COM. Is this platform reliable?
I'm opting out breakfast as part of hotel booking, do you think is it ok to find breakfast in Tokyo like what we can find easily in SGP? :p

Personally Agoda / Booking.com are very reliable platform they are own by the same company.

I only been to japan twice. hotels i stay usually has 1 or 2 lawson / family mart / 7-11 where i would get breakfast to bring back to the room while my partner prepare.

If you are after hotel experience etc then no choice. On itinerary standpoint, it quite a hassle to shift multiple locations within the same city, almost like shifting from Jurong to City Hall to Changi. Also have to deal early check-in etc.

Well hotels in japan are naturally expensive. why won't i go for hotel experience when i have a benefit of paying at a low rate for 5 star hotels that's going at the rate of $400 - $700+ a night. And i don't have to really rush can always go back again.

Hello, looking to plan a 10 days / 16 days (undecided) trip to Japan in 2025. It will be me and my partner's first time to Japan.

Interests are mainly sight-seeing, eating, as well as some shopping. Would definitely want to include viewing Mt Fuji as well in this trip.

From what I have read in the thread, most have recommended that if 10 days or lesser, best to spend it within 1 area. E.g Osaka + Kyoto + Nara or Tokyo + Day Trips

Is it recommend to visit both Tokyo + Mt Fuji + Osaka + Kyoto if the trip was 16 days long or will it be better to take it easy and go for 10 days instead and return to Japan another time for the Kansai region?

Any advice is appreciated.

For 10 days one region, 16 days can do both. But depends on how chill or rush you plan your itinerary.

Tokyo there's more than just Fuji. There's Nikko hakone Kamakura kawagoe yokohoma. Day trip or overnight.

Will you travel and queue for food? Some places you need to set aside a few hours. Example dote no Iseya. 130 year old birthplace of tendon. Have to reach at 10am to queue. Opens at 11am. By time get in, served food etc will be 12 plus.

Most restaurants there have small seating capacity hence need to queue. Think of the queues at popular ramen restaurants.

There's lots that don't have to wait long and still get decent food.

So time can pass by pretty quickly.

IMO 10days good start for first timer
can consider tokyo wide pass 3days, try shinkansen, view fuji from kawaguchiko etc. there are day trip package to hakone, nikko. remaining days can just roam around tokyo complex train network with subway pass.

Anyone currently in Osaka, help me redeem physical ticket using QR code at metro stations.

Meet up in Singapore to collect the physical ticket, back in SG before 9th April.

Will pay a convenience fee
