DEFAULT at 1080 vs default at 720p, anyway, enjoy your 500mbps M1 at $30+, now I am happy with 950+mbps at $20+Weird when you say 500m m1 can only do 720p YouTube
I am only a few weeks, apart from the 2nd day down time for about 1hr. I don't have any issues now. Can play all Youtube quality without hiccup. Do note that they do not have hotline. When it works, then very good, if not working then don't expect immediate response. You are on your own on trying to reboot the modem/router. A normal telco can callback and they can reset at their backend. Simba can only reboot our own equipment or run "ipconfig /flushdns" command. For guys who have used Simba 2.5Gbps for a few months, how do you find the service? Any issues so far? I'm considering joining the wagon. Just a normal user here, only using it to surf the net and watch Netflix and YouTube.
thanks for your honest feedback. seems like their support is not strong. but for the price, cannot demand too much.I am only a few weeks, apart from the 2nd day down time for about 1hr. Let me cite what gurus used to say " Your connection is as good as the weakest in your chain of connected devices." Invest more on your router, mesh or go physical connection than being mesmerized by those numbers. IMO, anything beyond 200Mbps is just an illusion. I cannot recall a website that allows me to download at 200 Mbps.Only if you are able to make use of the extra 7.5gbps which most people probably don't.

Yep, agree with you that there will be some use cases and scenarios where some expert users who can juice the most out of it will benefit from extra bandwidth. Even for them, you can see they have invested in hardware, optimized their connection, utilize advanced methods to realize the full potential. For majority of the users, it will be white elephant.I understand what you are trying to say, but 200Mbps is not an illusion.
Try https://mirror.sg.gs/ to see how fast you can go.
The following is just a quick example using a low end Intel N100 mini PC with low end Intel AX101 Wireless adapter.
28.0 MB/s = 28.0x8 Mbps = 224 Mbps

Edit to add: more references: @Mach3.2 can reach 300Mbps+ on Linux ISO download.

Then for those who use Torrent, they can even hit above > 1Gbps from the above thread using dual 1Gbps plans, as mentioned in the above thread.
u saying SIMBAFor anyone considering, my advice is to avoid this company for now.
I have been exchanging emails with one lady for over the past 5 days now. There is no solution to my internet issue. I am constantly getting over 200ms (ping) on speed test servers and gaming.
The Filipino CSO has a poor command of English and I have to repeat myself several times over the emails. Plus they just copy paste a standard answer and ignore your queries. Like 1 email can only give 1 question they will ignore the rest.
They asked me to show my setup and do speed test in first email. After some ding-dong back an forth they ask me what is my setup in the fifth email. And mind you I have been talking to the same person all along.
It is like I am going in circles doing the same thing over again with no solution.
But again I knew the risks when I signed up for this so tbh can't do much at this point with useless CSO.
Probably will wait out the 1 year contract and switch over to another ISP.
probably it's their bad routing on their endFor anyone considering, my advice is to avoid this company for now.

...Probably is Singtel, just tried using wifi and got 200+ msActually I'm curious what speedtest server is he testing against. is it Singtel's speedtest server?
At least on M1, 23/30 speedtest servers that claim to be located in Singapore can be reached over a local internet exchange. 7/30 was reached over IP transit or private network interconnects.
14/30 via SGIX (Which Simba also have presence)
7/30 via Equinix IX
2/30 via BBIX
Would be nice if someone can host a RIPE Atlas probe on Simba fibre so some traceroutes can be ran.

Bro u on simba now. Tks.Probably is Singtel, just tried using wifi and got 200+ ms
