Ya sure, I totally get it's in Singtel's best biz interest to not peer openly since they charge for paid peering, using their large customer pool as leverage.

But oddly M1 can peer with Pacific Internet, Viewqwest and Simba over SGIX, and MyRepublic over Equinix IX. :s13:

And what happens when major content delivery networks don't bow to their pressure? Their customers suffer loh.

Ya simba.

Forum dun let me post URL leh. So cant show my results.

But the server I tried for the CSO was CTCSCI, Myrepublic and Starhub ah.

Generally I think all the servers I got high ping except the first 3 servers IIRC.

@Mach3.2

Thanks for the list.

The server 62146 (China Unicom Global Ltd sgspeed.chinaunicomglobal.com) does not seem to work.

Bash:
root@debian12ct01:~# ./speedtest -s 62146
[error] Configuration - No servers defined (NoServersException)

I manually typed that out, I'll check my list again in a bit.

Edit: server doesn't exist in the speedtest.net server selection list anymore, maybe they temporarily took it down.

Let me cite what gurus used to say " Your connection is as good as the weakest in your chain of connected devices." Invest more on your router, mesh or go physical connection than being mesmerized by those numbers. IMO, anything beyond 200Mbps is just an illusion. I cannot recall a website that allows me to download at 200 Mbps.

Microsoft server do allow 500mbps downloads. Used to be able to do almost 1gbps last time.

Then by that logic MyRepublic ViewQwest all also pathetic?

SIMBA just upgraded their peering capacity at SGIX from 60Gbps to 130Gbps

Anyone knows the early termination fee for SIMBA Broadband?
I searched my email got no contract or paperwork or anything they sent when I signed up last year lol...

Looking to switch to Whizzcomm / M1 / Singtel broadband. Anyone with personal experiences of this?

Looking to avoid another high ping / lagging situation again.

From their own FAQ
https://support.simba.sg/hc/en-us/articles/26550052703001-Is-there-an-Early-Termination-Fee-ETF

You will be charged for the remaining months if you wish to cancel our service within the 12 months contract period.

You will need to pay activation fees, Open net fees etc. Not worth to switch for the flip of mind unless it does not serve your needs.

Actually there are a lot of Singtel subscribers who pays premium price for sub 200mbps quality.

My relatives... some still can defend for them ' oh because the technician said many Singtel subscribers in this block so the network is slow'... what bs.

I had used SH, MY and now on WC. All can achieve 950+mbps on lan. 750+ on wifi.

Anyway I'm not being paid to rectify their connection issues, can only advise them to subscribe to other cheaper ISP when their contract is up. Even with Simba they will only be paying 21.80. Lol.
