1. Example GPON ONU from VSOL with 2.5G LAN port Taobao, RMB 185. This will work usually for 1G/2G/2.5Gbps plans if you configure it properly (with potential exception for Singtel TV box).

The following thread is using the VSOL GPON ONU to replace Singtel ONR. Similar ways should work for WC 2.5Gbps plan.

looks like there is no public ip on the WAN. Could it be your PON Mac is same as your Serial Number?

SN and PLOAM PW was extracted from the WC ZTE F620 and written onto the VSOL GPON ONU. Not sure how to clone the WC ZTE F620 MAC onto the VSOL ONU.

To me this belongs to the more advanced topic so that I do not recommend average people to try it.

Mac Address clone seems to be the tricky part for VSOL GPON ONU as it seems to require some auth key generation from what I read. There are some Chinese websites which seem to provide the guide but you need to register and pay a small amount of money. The website registration may be another issue as it may require mainland China mobile number.

One reference found with Google.

If you bought it from Taobao, you may try your luck to contact the seller for help.

Not so sure if the following github page helps or not.

BTW, I have bought the VSOL V2802RH myself (an impulse buy last September at RMB 187) but I have not even opened the box. After I bought it I realized it might not be easy to get SingTel TV working. I might give it a try again if I decide to cancel my SingTel TV. But since I am an SingTel ONT user with 1Gbps plan, not so much motivation to try.

Edit to add: it is said that latest 1.1.8 Firmware updates will allow you to change MAC address by yourself.

I updated the FW and tried cloning the mac address from the ZTEG F620 but was also met with the boot loop problem on the VSOL https://github.com/Anime4000/RTL960x/blob/main/Docs/V2801F.md
Anyway, according to the Anime4000, GPON user can skip mac add cloning because GPON encap inside GEM frame does not MAC Address attached. So im currently still stuck.

No harm getting the VSOL GPON ONU for playing as it is cheap enough.

You are right, I think the MAC address does not matter in this case. There is something else. Hopefully it is just a small setting somewhere you need to change.

I will suggest you post in the following thread what you did exactly, step by step, and then you may check the difference between what you did and that @Jerry8695 did in the following thread where he documented his steps.

Thanks for the update.
Could you set connection mode to Bridge mode as well? See if it works?

I'm considering changing from MR to WC ATM and they're using this ONR. CSO outright told me they don't support bridging.

for the ONR, when it is in bridge mode, does it mean only 1 of the 1Gbps LAN port can be used? other 3 ports become unusable?

newbie question: then are they still on same network if the router is placed on the bridge port while other devices on the unbridged port?

Two independent networks, two seperate public IPv4 address, similar to Singtel 1+1 Gamer bundle plan.

1) Bridged port -- for you to connect your own router, one network, the router will get one public IPv4 address

2) Unbridged ports (same as the original ONR, just one port less) -- another network, another public IPv4 address for the ONR, your device or router connected to these unbridged ports will get private IPv4 addresses (192.168.x.x).
