If I subscribe to Simba 10 Gpbs Broadband and connect to Linksys WHW0301 router, will my router work? I just want cheaper monthly subscription.
Looks like theres no point having a 2.5g plan. Just say only got 10g.
I suppose the only reason to stay on the non upgraded plan is for the lower price rate. With more users sucking at the pipe 10g is unlikely to deliver.

I think they are still on trial at these ready area zone.
"I acknowledge that i am interested in SIMBA 10Gbps Broadband. I understand this is not a final confirmation of availability from SIMBA "
Is there any other charges I heard must pay extra $10 mthly for netlink trust etc on top of 29.99
Suppose to schedule for NLT appoint then, received email from SIMBA and stated "no available fibre port" ?
Currently, on used 1 TP point for another service provider
Yes it will work. With the old WiFi 5 Linksys WHW0301 router, you just use the 10Gbps plan as 1Gbps plan.
On the other hand, Whizcomms 2.5Gbps plan at S$21.80 per month may be cheaper if you just want to have cheaper monthly subscribption.

I think Simba has also done their pricing research. For Whizcomms, one needs to pay for the NLT and etc charges and the total average over a year is actually the same as Simba.Yes it will work. With the old WiFi 5 Linksys WHW0301 router, you just use the 10Gbps plan as 1Gbps plan.

Thanks xiaofan. You have been a fantastic and helpful guru in this forum. I have, in fact, learnt a lot from your contributions. As long as you have done the calculation, that is okay.
We still have no information about the stability of SIMBA 10Gbps though. Stability is more important than speed.
And you may also need to check if CGNAT is an issue for you or not.
Reference post -- the following may be applicable for SIMBA 10Gbps plan as well.

Be careful here. If they offer you free upgrade to 10Gbps with increase in fees, would you take it?argh! i just sign up 2.5g plan last week @ kaki bukit with the NYP promo code. the staff told me no 10g plan for residential.. and got email tat NLT installation on 2Aug.. so wat will happen to my sign up? free upgrade to 10g plan with increase in fees? or stick with 2.5g @ $21.80?
PS~ the system already made me paid 6mths advance and $106+ for installation.
After subscribing to whizcomms, it is just unpugging from current M1 ONT and plugging onto whizcomms ONR? Thank you.
a few minutes ago, just heard SIMBA advertisement on spotify, offering 2.5 Gbps at $20My area (sengkang) Simba 2.5 / 10 Gpbs both $29.99. No more $20 plan. I think I better stick with M1 as Simba's reliability and stability is not proven. Also sombody posted the below in reditt

I emailed their support to enquire on port forwarding.
“SIMBA does not offer support for specialized configurations like Port Forwarding, Web Hosting, Home Cameras setting on our Fiber Broadband service. Our installers will only ensure that general web surfing works.”
Why are people getting this Simba 2.5gbps ?
Most device now are capped at 1gbps. Even a slight incompatibility will cap the whole home network to 1gbps.
This contract is 30 days plan and price may increase without notice one ..Low price. SIMBA 2.5Gbps/10Gbps plan at S$29.99 are cheaper than other ISP's plans (except WC 2.5Gbps plan at S$21.80 per month). The next tier is M1 500Mbps plan at S$30.45 for new sign-up (or legacy Starhub 500Mbps plan at S$30.45 for existing users who do not want to upgrade).
You can also ask the same questions for those who subscribe to 5Gbps/10Gbps plans. Most of them do not need 5Gbps/10Gbps (no real use cases), but they may still have good reasons to do that.
1) After the calculation, they may find the 5Gbps/10Gbps cheaper or only slightly more expensive than their existing 1Gbps plans.
Example: Good contents bundle from Starhub (EPL) makes it cheaper to go with Starhub 10Gbps plan. Same for the contents bundle from Starhub Homehub+ 10Gbps plan for those who need Starhub TV+ packs.
Singtel has also contents bundling for 5Gbps/10Gbps plan.
2) Some people may like to try out new things. The price of 5Gbps/10Gbps plan have gone down so they are willing to do that. VQ has even come out with the XGS-PON ONU Stick for its 3Gbps/5Gbps/10Gbps plan for power users who want to get rid of ONT.
3) Only a very small portion have the real use cases for 10Gbps.

Better becareful ..
The minimum contract period for our Services is 360 days.
Although is a 1 year contract plan but can terminate as and when you like. No, it is 360 days contract.

That being said, take note I do not recommend SIMBA as the main internet service of now due to unknown stability. It is perfectly fine as a secondary service.
