interesting! So those 1+1gb plans due to lousy ONR can be 2.5gb plan if use correct 2.5gb ONT like the one provided by simba

Yes, that is correct.

SingTel 2Gbps aggregated plan can become a true 2Gbps plan if replacing the ONR with a 2.5G ONU or GPON stick.

SingTel 2.5 Gbps aggregated plan can become a true 2.5Gbps plan if replacing the ONR.

As per the report, even SingTel 1Gbps plan can become a true 2Gbps plan if replacing the ONR (looks like a loophole).

BTW, I hear that MR has the same loophole that MR 1Gbps plan can become a true 2Gbps plan if you replace the MR GPON ONT with a GPON ONU or Stick with 2.5G LAN port.

Not so sure about Starhub and M1.

For MR, is it using the same GPON config as ST mentioned in this thread?

Somehow no success yet from the user 12521252.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/threads/whizcomms-new-fibre-broadband-provider.5494964/page-115

No, i don’t even get an IP in the first place after configuring WAN with VLAN ID 10 whether in bridge or ipoe. Changing the FwdOp value made no difference for me. I followed all the steps @Jerry8695 did.

LOID: 123456789
LOID Pw: 123456
PLOAM Pw: FTTH ID in F620 Management and Diagnosis > Status Page. (9 digits)
Telnet into VSOL to change GPON_SN to GPON SN in F620 Management and Diagnosis > Status Page. (ZTEGd4******)
Setup WAN Settings as what Jerry did
I see it as registered certificated and O5 status
I also edited the OMCI information to match the ZTE F620.

MAC cloning should not be required. GPON user can skip mac add cloning because GPON encap inside GEM frame does not MAC Address attached.
Aside, i flashed the Custom Firmware from tripleoxygen which applies the FwdOp command upon boot. No avail. https://www.tripleoxygen.net/wiki/ont/vsol/v2802rh

Your settings are the same as mine. You won't see any IP address on ONU's web portal since you're using the bridge mode (mine are also 0.0.0.0 for IP, Gateway and Netmask). These information will be fetched using your router/client.
Fibre --- ONU (Bridge) --- Router (DHCP WAN) --- Computer (DHCP LAN)

To make sure the problem is not happened at the router side, you can try to directly connect the ONU to a computer and then use DHCP to get IP address and DNS:
Fibre --- ONU (Bridge) --- Computer (DHCP WAN)

You should set your ONU withtout plug in your fibre because the ISP might push some settings to your ONU after you plug in your fibre. You should also check if you plug in to the right ethernet port. Also try to do each step slowly, e.g. wait for a few minutes between steps. Sometimes your ISP side need some time to adapt your new ONU. If you are not quite sure, you can reset the ONU to factory settings and redo the settings (you might not need to set the SN again).

Another possible issue is the VLAN ID since you're using WC not Singtel. You can plug-in the fibre, use telnet to login to the ONU like how you set the SN. Then use 'omcicli get mib 84', and then try all the VLAN IDs there. I got 3 set of numbers for Singtel: 10; 30; 10 and 30. I guess VLAN ID = 10 is for Internet and VLAN ID = 30 is for IPTV. You can find more information about the command in the reference below. This repository also contains lots of other useful commands.

Hopefully this solves your problem.

Thank you for your reply. I've tried doing a factory reset and configuring the ONU based on your recommendations, enabling DHCP in this case and connecting it directly to a PC. However, i am unable to be assigned an ip when i changed my network adaptor from static to DHCP.
I also tried checking the VLAN ID using the 'omcicli mib get 84' command and was shown that the VLAN ID was set to 10 (which is correct as @Matt_Max was able to get a WAN IP using 10).
Question is for the GPON_SN was it vendor ID followed by digits? should i convert from Hex to Dec?

For GPON_SN, I just copy it from my old ONR and I haven't done any conversion. You can find the SN on the sticker on the old ONR. I'm not sure whether this can be applied to other ISP or not.

Did you setup your ONU with fibre plugged in? In my case, I see there will be another WAN interface coming when I plug in my fibre and I cannot delete it. Sometimes, this can cause the issue of no connection. You can try unplug your fibre, remove all the existed interfaces, and then set your own WAN interface.

Have you tried to setup your ONU in router mode? You can enable the DHCP client on your ONU and see if the ONU can get IP address. You can also use the diagnostic tool to ping some website like Google to see if your connection is okay.

Hi Jerry,
Have a couple of question.

1) how to retrieve omci info from existing onr (WC have me a ZTE F620)
2) do you know which vlan is used by WC for internet? Or How do I get that info?
3) I don't seem to be able to telnet to the ZTE ONR. Any advice?

Thanks much

Hi Jerry,

I just got this as well, but when I tried to fix the VLAN ID as 10 or "10", both come up with the VLAN ID is reserved issue.

While the GPON is registered and certificated, there's no ONU ID and I can't get online. I've tried both IPOE and Bridged.

Any suggestions?

You just type 10 plus a comma as VLAN, i.e. 10, (without quotes). VLAN=10 is for Singtel, if you're not using Singtel, you should check this by yourself.

As for ONU ID, I'm not quite sure.

You don't need to telnet to your old ONR, just do it on your VSOL ONU, it will be printed out once you plug in your fibre.

Wah thank you so much. Your one comma was the difference between 2Gbps data and a smashed ONT from Guangzhou.

Everything else was functional, except that.

Wongfs vlan 10/0 same for WC and Singtel. There's no change in vlan id. 20/4 for iptv and 30/6 for Voip.

You do need to put in the ACS info, it appears to be enabled on the Singtel hardware so if you don't it can give you a false connection - as in, it looks like it's connected and working, but nothing is happening.

For me, when I first logged into the ONT with my GPON SN etc all keyed in, there's a hidden WAN connection using TR069 and it has its own IP 45.xxx.xxx.xxx using the WC/ST DNS servers. So you need to be careful of the ACS info it's tied to the TR069 configurations. (for my Huawei ONR, ACS info was on the fault info log).

Thanks Jerry8695!

It doesn't seem quite like that. I think the traffic management (in the ONU it's OMCI_TM_OPT) has priority and rate control. The second part is set by the ISP, I think. In Singapore, that seems to be fixed at priority and rate controlled. I can't change it even on my own ONT. I'm guessing it's pushed to the device. So there's some allowance, but not full maxed out. I'm averaging so far at 1.6 out of 2.5Gbps.

It's the width of the band, not the full speed that these plans get.

Incidentally, this ONT brand has a 10G ONT they just released, with 10GE. Looks pretty crazy.

Hi dhnoob
which ONT from Guangzhou are you using? I got myself a 2802RH

I got to the point where "nothing is happening".
About ACS, where to enter these info? and what is the ACS PAssword and Connection Request Password? On my existing ZTE F620 ONR, these info are hidden.

thanks much

Hi Jerry,
omcicli mib get 84 , i believe you are refering to retrieving the VLAN ID. Yes, indeed, i see VLAN10 being used by WC.

Hi wongfs, same one, and I replied to your DM.

The VLAN ID is more important than ACS info, I think. Although I do see on the backend log that there is some sort of identification via ACS terminal still, I think as long as the GPON_SN and the model are correctly amended, it will actually configure the info itself.
