I always choose lane with breast stroke swimmers, they sure siam you when they breath and see you coming but I don’t choose front crawl lane because both head in the water breathing side way, sure bang head to head.

swimming fast is a measure of good technique and good stamina. find it hard to beat recent personal best cos dunno how to train well.

i also want to learn how to flip in e water. same.. dunno how to learn tt

for flip turns i watched videos and just tried it at the pool. definitely takes time to get used to it. still not able to do it well though.

slowing down quite a bit with age.

This stroke tends to generate too many waves and splashes.

That's quite an energy-inefficient stroke compared to freestyle.

Yeah, and very little or no gliding unlike freestyle or breaststroke

And also most tiring, I can't swim more than 20m

SG has no swimming culture. Most sinkers prefer running and love to join marathons

enjoy the swim and not chase these .. i guess you are not an pro athletic and need to swim to make a living...
imo... able to swim for a long time is better than able to swim fast... think about it.. if you even get thrown overboard... do you want to be able to swim 50m is less then 50sec and then tired out... or able to swim at least 1km or more... perhaps to save your life.. :)

maybe see how many less then 60 sec lap can you do... without rest in between
last time i took part in nus swimathon. swam 120 laps until want to vomit

Most swimmers in Safra or swimming complex swim breastroke. I don't really like breastroke cause very slow and very easy to kena DQ in competition

every stroke you can make your heart pump... every stroke also can warm down...

if you can't control the speed and intensity of the stroke.. then most likely you are not doing it proper.

i am not a swim couch.. this is my opinion.

i have seen people swim front crawl and can't do it slowly. once they start they have to keep the arms swinging and kick hard... very hard...

i am sure if you swim the breaststroke to try to hit 60. his heart will beat very fast.

It's basically their training. If u send ur kids to swimming class, their coaches will usually teach them to swim freestyle using flutter kick which is a series of continuous kicks. This might have carried over into their adult lives if they never learn further and learn the 6 beat, 4 beat and 2 beat kick.

i bought mine at around $30. previously i was using various aquasphere/phelps models which had wide views and these arenas feel ok for me.

SAFRA's 2024 edition of "SWIM FOR HOPE" is opened now. I had joined the individual 55km - but I would like to join a team if there is any active swimmers here.
