Hi guys not sure if this has been asked here but faq never talk about it. I did a number port in from Singtel to Eight.

My Singtel's number just got terminated but the Eight's Sim card is still the temporary number. Is this normal for port in?
This is the normal process. The current telco has to terminate your line before the new telco can port in your number. There will be a period of several hours where you are stuck in between.

I applied to port in, to Eight this afternoon. I just received an email (an hour back) from Simba that my line with them has been terminated. My eight is still showing the temporary number. Now waiting for eight to port in my line to their network. I am slightly worried as tomorrow is a public holiday. I hope I wont be stuck in limbo. Lucky thing is that these days hardly anyone calls me. The only gap is when I need to receive OTP number. Let's hope the port in is successful.

:)

Update: Good news. My number was ported over to Eight at 1am. Huat Arh!

Yup, the same thing for me that the only worry is the otp. Suddenly my temporary number isn't connecting anymore, so basically im browsing only using my wifi now. Sad.

Hopefully later it will be ready. Thanks for sharing with me your experience man.

**Update** number ported in ! Phew ! Was worried with my trading account as I need to use otp to login

Update -

I went down to the Ubi Service Center today. Friendly boss helped me raise a ticket to resolve. He also mentioned that this is not the first case that he has came across, so for those with port-in issue, he's the man to go to for help.

Overall experience @ Ubi Service Centre : 5 stars! Highly recommended!

In comparison, maybe it's generous to give the Lucky Plaza Service Centre experience even 1 star when I was just there to get a replacement SIM.
Yes, the Lucky Plaza guy is rude and obnoxious.

That's promising. Hopefully they could ramp up in the next year or so. Looking forward to a viable competitor to SIMBA and force them to lower prices.
yes. if they give 5G NSA at the same price of $8/mth. then i feel it's one of the best deal alternative to simba's $12/mth plan with 5GB int roaming.

Just noticed this in my office, near to my desk. Not sure if it is "active" or not coz my signal bar is 3 only.

Did a speedtest, it's faster than my Simba 5G

Had a very bad experience at the lucky plaza service center, if you guys can avoid, best to avoid.
So long story short, i went down to the lucky plaza service center and was served by the guy manning the store, i asked i want to port in and asked if he needs the activation code which i received when i sign up for port in online. He said no. He then proceeded to perform all the KYC process and then informed me that i already had 2 numbers when i only had 1. He proceeded to terminate the one i had and proceed to continue with the port in. After all the process is done, he asked me to pay $8 but i already paid $8 when i signed up online. He said should told him its pick up and not port in, 2 different thing. But isnt port in what i want to do? Then i asked what to do now? And whether the port in has been triggered?
He said to come back on monday and i left without the sim card.
Also to note that the people there isnt friendly and is just outright rude. Suggest anyone who wants to port in to just head to ubi service center. Went there and it got settled within 5mins.

Ubi service center also operate on weekends if anybody is asking.

Once i insert the temporary sim card. It says port in request is unsuccessful. Anybody faced this issue before?
