Oh I didn’t ask…. But I guess I can if you want to find out. Or you can just go to the vsolcn website and find out for yourself.

The only models from VSOL which are compatible with XGS-PON are VSOL V2902A-XGS (RMB 590), XGS-PON+10GE+1GE SFU ONU; and VSOL V2905H-XGS (RMB 599),XGS-PON+10GE+4GE+1USB3.0 ONT
Reference price is from Taobao VSOL shop.
https://www.vsolcn.com/products/onu-ont

https://www.vsolcn.com/product/xgs-pon-10ge-4ge-1usb-3-0-ont-v2905h

However, it is said that replacing an XGS-PON ONR is much more difficult, so far no successful story to replace Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps plan) and ZTE F8648P ONR (Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps plan).

Any idea that what is the difficulty to replace XGS-PON ONR as compare to GPON?

Not an expert here.

Just a few points based on what I read.

1) Relatively expensive to get the XGS-PON ONU to start the experiment, especially with no success story to boost the confidence.

2) It is said Encryption is a difficulty to deal with.

3) Difficult to log in the XGS-PON ONR super admin account (not an issue with SingTel ZTE F8648P ONR though)

@Jerry8695 have you noticed a difference when using an APC/UPC cable compared with just APC cable?

Even though the VSOL 2802 ONT is a UPC port, I find that I get better speeds when I use an APC/APC cable.

For 2), any details on this? What kind of encryption which different from GPON?

For 1) think can get XGSPON ONT to try as long as we have technical details for 2). I just sign up All in one 10G think soon will stuck in ONR as well.

Sorry no idea about 2. Not an expert here. It is from the comment of @seowbin. Maybe @seowbin can help to explain.

I bought the VSOL GPON ONU last year but never touched it. Now it is useless since I have upgraded to Singtel 5Gbps and stuck with the ZTE F8648 XGS-PON ONR (which can not be bridged now due to some changes from Singtel side).

On the other hand, I am kind of used to Double NAT now, even it gives me various challenges (which is good for me to learn new things).

Sorry, I am noob here. I have requested Singtel to setup my ONR top bridge mode.

1. Do you mean to be able to utilize the 2.5Gb bandwidth, I will need to replace the ONR?
2. If I were to replace Singtel's ONR with V.SOL V2802RH, how am I going to connect the fiber? Just saw the V2802RH has a SC/UPC port, can I assume that I will connect the fiber to this port?

Would appreciate any advises.

Many thanks!

you can get xiaomi BE7000/BE10000 and use the wan load balance to combine 2x1gbps lan port into the router.
speedtest can reach average 1300mbps till 1800mbps max.

1 room with door close distance can reach 1gbps.

Which Singtel plan? Singtel has stopped offering ONR bridging for quite some time.

If you are using Singtel 1Gbps with bridged ONR, no need to think, just continue using it. No need to replace the ONR.

If you are using SIngtel 1+1 Gamer bundle, no need to think too much, just continue using it. No need to replace the ONR.

If you are using Singtel 2Gbps plan, then your ONR can not be in a bridged state.

Many for the quick response.

I am on Singtel 1Gbps plan and will be upgrading to the 2.5Gbps enhance plan.

Yes my ONR is currently in bridge mode as I prefer the internet control on my Asus router.

Then you should not upgrade. Once upgrade to 2Gbps or 2.5Gbps plan, the brigded port will be gone...

You can recontract Singtel 1Gbps plan and keep the bridged port.

Haha.. I just recontracted 1 hour ago...... Guess I need to give up on the ONT bridge :(

So to enjoy the 2Gbps connection, I will need to get the VSOL V2802RH and connect the fiber into the SC/UPC port?

That is one way. Try to follow the first post to see if you can get it working.

Simple way is to get a router which support Dual WAN Load Balancing (just need to live with Double NAT).

Not sure if Double NAT will affect me. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the help!

I'm not sure about what cable I used.. I got 2Gbps download and 1Gbps upload. I'm pretty satisfied.

Hmm, why XGS-PON ONU? Which XGS-PON ONU?

Are you trying to replace ZTE F8648P ONR for Singtel 5Gbps/10Gbps plan or WC 10Gbps plan? No one has done that yet.

If you mean the ZTE ZXHN F620 ONR for Singtel 1Gbps/2Gbps/2.5Gbps plan or WC 2.5Gbps plan, then you should use a GPON ONU.
