I will not be surprised if the system did not register my entry or exit.

Lol. Don't you all at least feel safer that SG system though slow, will probably be more secure compare to boleh land one.
No, I want to get through immigration (a hassle and nuisance) as quickly as possible.

Any phantom "security" engendered by timewasting is absolutely not worth the cost.

Hi,
Did any Singaporean here use the Egate at Penang International airport before?
Are we allow to use?

Overheard on my return at Woodlands, a Singaporean man complaining loudly to his aged mother at the eGate that it is very slow compared to the ones at JB. I don't care as much if the security is not done properly entering Malaysia (I successfully entered without looking at the sensor), but it is of utmost importance that the security is tip-top upon entering my home country.

Definitely agree, especially for Singapore where we need to monitor unwanted guest.

Just here to remark that the E-gate works for children, even those who have never registered via MDAC and using a new passport.

Does it include children under age of 5 and below 1.2m tall?
I read previously cannot use and have to go manual gate...

Don't know for the case in Malaysia. When my kid first tried in July, he just fulfilled the 2 criteria you mentioned above. Anyway, the manned gates are now so void of queuing people, it does not matter if you use them.
