SINGAPORE: Driving schools in Singapore are taking action against a growing army of internet bots that students pay for to reserve and book practical lesson slots, amid a post-pandemic surge in sign-ups.

In July, the Singapore Safety Driving Centre in Woodlands put up a notice on its website warning people against using these services on messaging app Telegram and other platforms like Carousell.

ComfortDelGro Driving Centre, which sees about 2,000 sign-ups every month, said it will suspend users for three months if they are caught using bots to get lesson slots.

New students at these two schools now must wait about two to three months to take practical lessons.

The other remaining licensed school, Bukit Batok Driving Centre, currently has the longest wait time, with all lesson slots taken for the next six months.

According to a sign at its counter seen by CNA last week, the next available slot is in February or March. It stated that the information was accurate as of Aug 2, with new slots released every last Thursday of the month.

Nothing new. Before COVID-19, they are already using this system.

I met two of them. One is the developer of the bot.

As they have already cleared their theory lessons. Both finished their driving lesson within 3 months and waited for TP 1 month.

1. Must be rich, willing to spend money.
2. Stupid in driving never mind, need more lessons.

I do not see that illegal. 不偷、不抢、没有伤害到人、也没有骗钱。
Just smarter way to beat the system. That's all.

The situation has been terrible since COVID. It has been going for years and there's still no improvement.

Nowadays with AI I wondered if you can trial and error yourself or not ..

Perhaps a simple python script to scrape the endpoint

Heng ah....moi gotten driving license.

S'pore driving standard is pathetic/joke ~ simi defensive driving ~ after acquire license basically no drivers will signal left or right to switch lanes, or turn left right.

while i agree with you that there is a lot to be desired in terms of service standards in singapore, a long waiting time is not an excuse to drive illegally.

it is like saying if you are poor, it is ok to steal? or if you are horny, it is ok to rape?
