Terry Gou going all out to become the "3rd force" after Apple and Samsung...

He may succeed, after all his company has lots of experience in manufacturing for Apple

Comments from trying out the display set:
For 16:9, setting photo resolution to 50MP will cause a noticeable lag in saving the photo. The result doesn’t look good either. Would suggest choosing 9.7 MP.
I like the availability of grid lines to help beginners compose photos but too bad, the camera of this phone is quite limited in its capability despite the use of AI. Based on what I viewed on the phone screen, selfies using the front camera and the main back camera look decent but anything further than that suffers from grain and blurriness. As expected for a low end camera, it cannot capture anything in motion clearly.

The sim tray is a bit more flimsy than normal phones.
Likely to be a non-issue unless you are changing SIMs frequently.
Just checked out a display unit and I’m disappointed with the quality. Why make the exterior military grade, dust and water resistant and then skimp on this small aspect.

Possibly the price to pay for a SIM tray that does not use the ejector pin method

Even though it is a little inconvenient, I think I still prefer the ejector pin type. It’s more secure and so far, it has never spoilt.

Just curious, is the service centre from Sharp or outsourced like Pixel phones?

I kind of like the R9, but i find the current $999 price way too expensive for the chip its using.
It should be more like $699 or cheaper.
