Thinking of upgrading M1 500mbps to WC 10gbps but the $50+ installation fee is a deal breaker. Do WC has promos now and then like during IT shows that waives both NTL and their one time fees?
Maybe try their live support chat during working hours. But I guess they are very rigid.

Been switching off the ONT since yesterday but no internet.

When I returned home today, still no internet.

Emailed Simba same template reply to On and Off the ONT.

My connection is ONT to my computer.

How is the connection now? North side at least no issue. However, do note that going to HWZ tend to be abit slow on SIMBA.

You can of course reuse your existing 1Gbps or 2.5Gbps capable gears. But in that case, you may find Starhub 5Gbps offer attractive. Starhub is using Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR to provide lower cost 5Gbps plan since it also has wireless function (AX6000).

Take note the link says only for new customers. Quite a few users (eg: from M1) have reported the success to sign up for this plan. For Starhub users, not so sure if any one (targeted user) has got this offer.

Does this starhub 5Gbps plan uses bridge ONR or ONT ?

1. Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR with wireless AX6000, not bridged. And not able to change to ONT.

And it cannot be bridged unless you catch the one time super-admin password during the installation. Take note Starhub SOP for the installater says not to give the super-admin password to the user.

This is actually the cheapest way to get the user to jump to 5Gbps or 10Gbps as Nokia XS-2426X-A is kind the cheapest 10G capable wireless router (AX6000 WiFi 6). I understand power users usually do not like ONR, but many user may not care and just care about low cost.

2. Comparison of SIMBA 10Gbps plan, WC 10Gbps plan and Starhub 5Gbps special offer

Power users do not like ONR. But ONR provides cheap setup to achieve 10Gbps.
And at least WC 10Gbps and Starhub 5Gbps plan will be more stable than SIMBA 10Gbps as of now.

For power users, better go with VQ 10Gbps (ONT) and Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps plan with ONT + EB810v option.

For average users, Starhub 5Gbps special offer has the best value now.

1) SIMBA 10Gbps --> S$29.99 per 30 days, using CGNAT (no public IPv4 address).

The user needs to get his own wireless router. 10G capable wireless router is not cheap. If the user opts to use 2.5G capable main wireless router, the plan becomes 2.5Gbps. If the user opts to use 1G capable main wireless router, the plan becomes 1Gbps.

2) WC 10Gbps --> S$29.99 per month, 10G capable ONR provided, not using CGNAT (with public IPv4 address).
The ONR is the main router for the home network. The user needs to get his own wireless router. 10G capable wireless router is not cheap. But the user can reuse his own 1G or 2.5G wireless router. It is still possble to use one 10G wired device since the ONR has one 10G LAN port. WC alsp provides another option with HB810 bundle but that is totally not worth it at S$58.90 per month.

3) Starhub 5Gbps special offer with Nokia XS-2426X-A all-in-one ONR --> S$29.55 per month. Not using CGNAT, with public IPv4. IPv6 is also supported.

The user does not need to buy his own router to enjoy 10Gbps. And it includes one Nokia Beacon 2 which can be used as a mesh node (1Gbps capable only mesh node). It is also cheap to get second Nokia Beacon if more mesh nodes are needed.

I am not saying the Nokia Beacon 2 or even the Nokia XS-2426X-A is good, it is just that this is the cheapest way to get the user started.

Starhub has fixed its backend congestion issue and now publish typical speed for 5Gbps and 10Gbps plan.

Typical Download SpeedsLocal
1Gbps970 Mbps – 975 Mbps
5Gbps4116 Mbps - 4783 Mbps

Hope your connection is already back up. If not, try replugging the fibre cable on both ends and check your cable to your router.

Yesterday, I went down to troubleshoot my FIL internet connection, found out he plug the cable to the wrong port after cleaning up the dust on his ONT and his cable wasn't inserted back in properly.

i finally fixed my simba 10G internet.

anyway. does Simba offer static IP? any idea how much?

SIMBA does not offer static IPv4 add-on. What is the use case here?

SIMBA provides IPv6 support (at least for the 10Gbps plan). That may help some use cases.

For remote access, you can also try things like Tailscale and Zerotier (or similar things).

Sup boisss,

I recently got this. good or not ar?

Archer AXE75

AXE5400 Tri-Band Gigabit Wi-Fi 6E Router

A bad buy for SIMBA 10Gbps plan -- since it only has gigabit WAN port.

If possible, return it or sell it.
It not, you can still use it for now (use the 10Gbps plan as 1Gbps plan). You can get another better router in the future and use the Archer AXE75 as a mesh node.

I need to do port forwarding for Plex hosting, Qbittorrent and WireGuard.

What are my alternative options? Totally not familiar with IPv6 other than it has more digits haha.

I think you can forget about Port Forwarding on SIMBA as it is using CGNAT.

Sorry but my recommendation is to bite the bullet and get another ISP for your use case ...

But it is said may be you can use Cloudflare Tunnel as an alternative solution. You need to get a Domain Name. I am not familiar with it.
