Nothing related to ONT in equioment section.. The only thing it shows regarding equipment is:
New Equipment Name, Model No, Price: 61-Beacon_2_Nokia_Mesh_Router

Does that reveal anything?
I believe, for ONT modem, there is No free router.

Starhub 5Gbps plans:

1. Normal 5Gbps plan:

2. Special 5Gbps offer with Nokia ONR (can not change to ONT) and one Nokia Beacon 2 to form a mesh

3. Special 5Gbps offer with ONT -- nobody has been able to get this offer so far (a few are trying). Not so sure if the link will be valid for long.

Signed up the ultraspeed 5gbps ONR plan for my parent's place since they need home line, if not I would have gone with viewquest.

I understand the need for a superadmin password to bridge the nokia ONR. Can you somehow snipe it as they configure the network?

That is what the initial batch of people did when Nokia ONR was the only option. You either ask the installer nicely (but it is said their new SOP does not allow them to give the super-admin password now) or you somehow manage to get the one-time password during the installation.

But do not pin too much hope on this since the Starhub SOP does not allow the installer to share the super-admin password. The Nokia ONR may well be okay for your parents. You can add Nokia Beacon 2 as mesh node if the coverage is not good enough.

yeah definitely. Was planning to get the U7P but it's only 2x2. Initial plan was:

Nokia ONR 10gbe > Unify Flex 10gbe switch > patch box > 2x U7P + 2x direct 5gbps to desktops.

Looking at other routers now for a wired 2x mesh setup under $1000, preferably with 10gbps port. I think for the budget it is difficult to find a combo. It's a 120sqm executive hdb layout, with most laptops being 6e and handphones being 320mhz capable wifi7.

Actually surprised me.. at this scenario unifi is cheaper than I thought:
u7 pro $189
flex 10GbE $299
These are official prices

I thought to suggest orbi 970 series but that 2 unit combo already exceeds the budget

Take note that U7 Pro and U7 Pro Max (not yet available in Singapore) only have 2.5G WAN port.

Netgear Orbi 970 price is exhorbitantly high. No idea why they think they can charge that high price.

On the other hand, 10G capable WiFi 7 routers are still expensive. TP-Link Archer BE805 is probably the cheapest one for consumer models.

Cheaper 10G capable WiFi 7 routers models are usually bundled by the ISPs.
TP-Link EB810v -- service provider model, locked to Starhub for FW updates, not recommended for other ISP users.
TP-Link HB810 -- service provider model, locked to Singtel for FW updates, not recommended for other ISP users.
TP-Link Archer BE805 -- offered by MR, okay for average users.
Amazon eero Max 7 -- offerd by VQ and SIMBA. Some people like it, some hate it.

Yes, orbi 970 is more premium than u7 pro lah
not only u7 pro gets restricted by the 2.5g port, but also it is only equipped with 2 by 2 mimo for all bandwidth, if I am correct
Thus the price is cheaper!

Btw I just notice that the price I mentioned are US dollars, but still cheaper

So TP link didn’t sell HB810 and EB810V as customers product in store even today? That purposely build for service providers only?

Just came from StarHub Tampines. They informed that they are launching 5GBps Homehub package next week 8 Oct but no details yet.

Just to share, I used the ONT link shared here:

https://www.starhub.com/personal/st...speed-5gbps-ont-at-2955_ultraspeed-5gbps.html

The StarHub person just came and installed the Nokia ONT and gave free Nokia Beacon 2. He asked me a few times if I want the ONR instead as he said the beacon 2 cannot support the 5Gbps. I say it’s ok, I’ll use back my current mesh (which is slow Deco M5) but will upgrade next time.

Great, you are the first user to repot the success to get this Starhub 5Gbps Speical ONT offer link working. Thanks a lot for the reports.

Did your contract state what's the usual price for the plan? Also if the 29.95 is for 2 years?

Eh but what's the speed he's getting with the ONT if it doesn't support the 5Gbps?

Should have gotten Starhub instead then ha. $30 for 5Gbps is a steal

Just go ahead. No harm trying.

I suspect the link may be gone soon so it is better to try the link now than later.

The Starhub XGS-PON ONT (either Nokia XS-240X-A or XS-250X-A) support 5Gbps/10Gbps plan. It has one 10G LAN port which is compatible with 1G/2.5G/5G/10G Ethernet.
