I find some discussions about the NOKIA change vlan forward op, I try to follow the instructions, but singtel seems like use different entityId, so no success.

I have entityId 0xe102 for vlan 10 0xe104 for vlan 30 and 0xe10b for both.

  • omcicli mib set 84 0xe102 FwdOp 0x02
  • omcicli mib set 84 0xe104 FwdOp 0x15 or 0x00
  • omcicli mib set 84 0xe10b FwdOp 0x02

I guess you have to set up the 1G port (LAN1) with VLAN for Singtel TV box.

1) For Internet: VLAN ID is 10.

Default Route Selection -> Specified
Channel Mode -> Bridge <- if you use this ONT as a router, you should set this to IPoE
Enable IGMP -> checked
VLAN -> Enable
VLAN ID -> 10 <- type 10, here if you see VLAN ID = 10 is reserved, don't forget the comma
VLAN Cos -> 0
Multicast VLAN ID -> 0
Application Mode -> INTERNET
Request DNS -> Enable
Default Route -> Enable <- I found it always goes back to "Disable" automatically
LAN -> tick LAN2 <- LAN2 is the 2.5 Gb[s port

2) For Singtel TV Box: VLAN ID is 20.

Try something like the following. I am just guessing here. You have to try by yourself. YMMV.

Default Route Selection -> Specified
Channel Mode -> Bridge <- if you use this ONT as a router, you should set this to IPoE
Enable IGMP -> checked
VLAN -> Enable
VLAN ID -> 20 <- type 20, here if you see VLAN ID = 20 is reserved, don't forget the comma
VLAN Cos -> 4
Multicast VLAN ID -> 20
Application Mode -> IPTV
Request DNS -> Enable
Default Route -> Enable <- I found it always goes back to "Disable" automatically
LAN -> tick LAN1 <- LAN1 is the 1 Gbps port

next Q … digital (telephone) line …
how do i connect this (or have to forego is it ? ) if replacing the Askey router with V2802 ?
TIA

Maybe this can be helpful for someone who also contracted the 2 Gbps plan. I did lots of searching on Internet and found a very affordable solution. The cost is less than 30 SGD.

I recently subscribed to Singtel's 2Gbps Enhanced plan because the price difference between 1 Gbps and 2 Gbps for new user is marginal. However, the Ethernet ports on the installed ONR by Singtel only support 1 Gbps speed. In order to fully utilize the 2 Gbps speed, you need to change the ONR from Singtel.

I purchased a VSOL V2802RH ONT from Taobao (only costs ~150 RMB, or ~28 SGD) with 1*2.5 Gb + 1* 1 Gb Ethernet ports. (https://www.vsolcn.com/product/25gbe-1ge-ont-v2802rh)

I use the Bridge mode for this ONT. You can also configure this ONT as a router, then you need to use IPoE in Channel Mode as described below. You should do the setup below without plugging in your fiber, because the ISP will push some settings to your ONT after you plug in your fiber. Therefore, you should only plug in your fiber after you complete the setup.

1. Under Setup | WAN | GPON Settings, mirror your LOID, LOID Password, PLOAM Password from your ONR. For Singtel, you just need to set PLOAM Password as your Fibre ID, and LOID, LOID password you can put anything like 123456789 and 123456.

2. Open the telnet port under Firewall | ACL, then use telnet login to the ONT and then write the GPON_SN of your old ONR to this ONT. You can find relevant information on the Internet. One of the examples is: https://www.odbook.com/1215.html (in Chinese) I think GPON_SN and PLOAM Password are used for PON authentication by Singtel.

3. Under Setup | WAN | WAN Settings, add a new WAN interface by clicking "Add" with following settings:
Default Route Selection -> Specified
Channel Mode -> Bridge <- if you use this ONT as a router, you should set this to IPoE
Enable IGMP -> checked
VLAN -> Enable
VLAN ID -> 10 <- type 10, here if you see VLAN ID = 10 is reserved, don't forget the comma
VLAN Cos -> 0
Multicast VLAN ID -> 0
Application Mode -> INTERNET
Request DNS -> Enable
Default Route -> Enable <- I found it always goes back to "Disable" automatically
LAN -> tick LAN2 <- LAN2 is the 2.5 Gb port

4. Under Setup | LAN | DHCP, set DHCP Mode to None. <- If you use this ONT as a router, you should leave this on

If everything goes well, you will see "Registered,Certificated" under Status | Device Info | PON | Connect state, and "O5" under Status | Device Info | PON | ONU status. Then you can configure the IP of your router or computer using DHCP to get IP address and DNS Servers automatically.

Now you can see the download speed is over 2 Gbps: https://i.ibb.co/fXXCrRK/Screenshot-2024-06-23-at-10-20-25-PM.png
However, I found the upload speed is still 1 Gbps. Maybe this is limited by the ISP.
I am holding a Huawei HG8244H, can any one advise how do I get the GPON_SN? Thanks in advance

You can not.

V2802RH does not the POTS (aka telephone) port.
https://www.vsolcn.com/product/25gbe-1ge-ont-v2802rh

I guess you can forget about this exercise for now. It is not good for your use case.

I am not an expert in this ONR replacement thingy but I will suggest you to give up once your need Singtel TV or Digital Voice.

just checking after going thru this thread again.
has anyone else had success with the V2802RH ?
afaik only one is the threadstarter jerry
wanna check before i order a unit

also, i read that GPON SN is 10 characters
on back of my onr, it’s 14 (eg ZTEG1234567890)
am i right to assume the SN is 1234567890 ?
LOID is found on Singtel Bill page (fibre id)
PLOAM password : use LOID ? (or leave blank ? )

I just tried doing this for my WC 2.5G line, but it is not going very well.

Initially, it worked when connected to my Macbook. However, switching the connection to my router (BE65), the router is unable to get a dynamic IP. Anyone knows what may be the reason, or is dynamic IP not the right option to select for the Internet Connection section?

Does the TR069_INTERNET profile affect anything? I see that the IPOE for the WAN with the TR069 profile have a public IP with the corresponding gateway, but the router can't get an IP from the bridged port.

Another thing is that, if we don't set the VLAN on the VR8202RH, could we just set the corresponding in the router instead if it is supported?

Also, does this setup still work after a reboot of both the VR8202RH and the router (in the case of a power loss due to power trip, etc)?

[edit] It works now, just needed to give it some time (~3-5 min) for the BE65 to get assigned with an IP

Hi all, seem like I'm getting ONU Status 03 with LOID Error.
I'm using Huawei ONT from M1, can i confirm which part is the 12 digit GPON SN number ?

If I'm not mistaken those are unable to replicate our XGSPON Stick only this one, https://www.fs.com/sg/products/185594.html

However the taobao VSOL GPON seems like an interesting proposition to try out since its ~100SGD if it works out it will be pretty good @xiaofan wanna take the leap of faith? :p

I myself am quite tempted since I just got a server and looking to bridge my router again :')

Another user has tried the VSOL XGS-PON ONU but he is not able to get it working. So I am not confident this can be done any time soon.

You can always give it a try.

Why must fully Utilize Singtel 2Gbps Network? Any fine for not doing so?

Haha, you are not the target audience of this thread.

The main objective in this thread is to replace SingTel issued ONR to bypass its limitations.

You can safely ignore this thread.

I also avoid certain threads like TrueNAS or Home Automation.

Yes, replace ZTE F8648P ONR for 10Gbps plan with VSOL V2905H. Already get PON and WAN up but can't get public IP in bridge port. Those with GPON experience, can share how to resolve this ?
Could you potentially share how you setup the device i.e. which parameters you filled in to which box I'm also looking to see if this is a possible route.

I follow the parameter in this thread, basically configure as bridge mode, enter LOID and password as well as SN. I am able to get O5 status but not able to get WAN IP for some reason.

At the end I am using original ZTP ONR as bridge mode. Till now it work great with my UDM-SE.

Did you try changing the MAC address to match the ONR?

One thing that I experienced while setting the GPON setup is that after the O5 status, when directly connected to a PC, you get assigned a WAN IP very quickly. However, the VSOL requires waiting for some time before being assigned one.

I clone the MAC, but still not getting WAN IP , not sure what's went wrong . But for new singtel TV box , unless we stream the TV channel using Cast app, it is still required to connect to ONR directly to get TV connection.

Damn. I was wondering if that was the issue. Planning to let go of your VSOL V2905H? :p I might be interested in experimenting if the price is not too high

Hmm.. my case I bridge port 5 , only port 5 working , other ports no Internet at all.. new singtel tv box no need to use seperate VLAN, can even use WiFi according to technician.

Interestingly today I tried to bridge Singtel ZTE F8648P ONR Port 5 only and it works fine, as you mentioned, only port 5 working, other LAN ports got no internet at all (even though Singtel ONR still got a vliad IPv4 address).

BTW, I have cancelled my Singtel TV service as it is really not used much in the past three years.
