The coupon not even the same, and there's the pull to par effect VS where rates are at. Not sure what the other thread poster is comparing 😂
in the bond market, you have very few coupons that are the same. does that mean we can never compare anything? lets say i have 100k and would like to buy some retail bonds, you mean i cannot compare astrea 7 and 8 on which is a better deal based on the price and coupon?

and just for your info both us were correct. astrea 8b drop from 108 to 107 and astrea 7b went from 103 to 105.

yes there are things worth comparing

You actually compare the YTM typically, but for this case Yield to Call, and then try to determine relative value based on ratings / other comparable issuers.

did i say which method i used to compare? what i mentioned is only 2 of the factors. there is also the dirty price/clean price thing and others

the fact is, you can make a comparison. the fact is astrea 8b went down and 7b went up

Comparison is always made with clean price, dirty price is just accrued interest typically. Also, up down need to compare with spread over risk free, not just by itself. Anyway critique was to the other poster doing compassion, not against how you compare.

Hope you are not converting this to SGD cos USD has fallen to 1.3192 (IBKR rate on Aug 5 @8.40pm) and seems to continue to drop...
Oh ya hor, when we sell....can we choose USD settlement option?
Intend to use FSMone....
