yeah i always do that before i got my apec card. Every 2 weeks go Hk to renew my 2 weeks stay. Did that continuously for 4 months, no issue at all.
Yeap have been doing this if I am not wrong since 2016.

In Macau I don't even spend anything on transport , as i just take all the free casino buses .

On China side , if you learn to use the public buses is quite cheap , fixed rmb 1 no matter the distance , so cost of "visa run" is really low .

by crossing over to Macau and than visa free starts from new entry date ?

Last year visa free was 15 days and I did exactly the same , just need to give the immigration officers the right answers , so far no problem
have been doing these for years .

Macau immigration don't even ask a single question as long as your passport is in order , only the chinese side will ask on re entry.

Ps if you are not staying in a Hotel but at friend's house or your own you need to ensure that within 24 hours of entry you need to register for a temp resident permit with the local police station in the area .
This is to ensure you fulfilled all the legal requirement .
I didn't know about the requirement to register for a temp resident permit in China if you are not staying in a hotel.

this is provided you are staying near the border like to HK or Macau. Harder if you are elsewhere like Shanghai or Beijing.

If you read the entry card form it is there .

Many people don't bother about it , but I heard recently there have been checks and some people have to pay a penalty .

The only issues according to the police woman that told me, for foreigner money is usually a small issue but there is a record in their system and it may impact your future entry .

With a 30 days visa free I think it is all
about planning the most efficient and cost effective way .

I don't usually move out from Guangdong Province and have no interest in the near future.

I am sure those interested to stay longer than 30 days in places like Shanghai or Beijing can find other alternatives , maybe other readers here who have tried can share .

according to this

Seems like EVERY foreign visitor (regardless where he or she is staying) must register.

If you are staying in a hotel , it is the hotel responsibility to register for their guest .

They have a system that is linked .( I have friends working in the hotel too).

I was based in China in 2007 for more than 10 years so this is not something new , has been there all the time .

Just added Trust and Youtrip to WeChat using a Singapore Phone number.
How can I check if I've setup it correctly and can be used for payment when in China?

As long as you added the physical card to WeChat, not the virtual card, you should be fine.

Default payment must set to card instead of balance in the WeChat app.

Limit is 200RMB per transaction, higher than that there's service fee

Was in china some months back and only added the virtual card to both alipay and wechat and did not have a problem using both platforms. Wechat no longer accepts virtual card?

Right, so need to seek HR's clearance, unless one has own company registered I suppose.
