Hi all, if I turn off auto recharge the plan will get terminated at month end correct?
https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-renew-recharge-and-billing

What happens if I do not renew my plan?

  • If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/ service centre.
  • At your plan expiry, the plan will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which you can receive SMS and notification to recharge. After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

Thank you

I was wondering the best way to terminate the line, thought not recharge it again will just be simpler, lazy to go down service centre or write in.

Yes that is correct. Once you use up the 10GB, it will automatically use the 2GB under Intl

Confirmed this too.
I was in Malaysia and Thailand last month. Used 6GB in Malaysia, and in Thailand when I exceeded the balance 4GB APAC roaming, it automatically deducted from the 2GB international roaming balance.

In Japan, if I were to make a call to the local hotel in Japan, will this be chargeable under roaming call or will it be deducted from the IDD minutes given?

For those previously on giga, how’s the comparison amongst these two StarHub sub brands?

Eight will deduct from wallet/credit card automatically provided the "Auto-Recharge" function is enabled.

Oh... If we leave the credit card information blank they will not try to deduct from the card we used during sign up right?

my promo is until 6 Dec. I will take this opportunity to pay $8 and use for my overseas travelling roaming in Dec
can I check with the gurus here, so my previously free line is dormant for so many mths.

Is it possible for me to topup the wallet at $8 from those shopee vendor first and after that choose the $8 plan in "My Account", the plan will auto-deduct from the wallet?

Or I need to choose the $8 plan first, then can only pay via credit card in My Account?

Login to your account. If still active, buy the $8 plan. Subsequently topup the wallet at $8 from those shopee vendor then turn on auto-recharge . Eight will check your wallet, and recharge at the next deduction when you have enough inside.

You must be coming from traditional postpaid plans.

Eight, like many MVNOs, actually work in a prepaid manner. You must purchase a plan or an add-on first before using it. If you run out of data or minutes, you simply run out. If you need more, you simply purchase a plan or add-on again.

So you'll never get any bill shock. But you may get the shock of no data or minutes.
