ONT or ONR plan both can reuse old router.

ONT allows you use your router as the router and AP (full function).

ONR has the router built in. You use your old router as AP or router (with double NAT).

I'm on a Asus router Ax -56U plus using 3 Deco M9 Plus.
If I ported over to starhub, can I still use my M9 plus (deco mesh)?

If I'm not mistaken, It's a 2 year contract but the price will remains even after your contract is up.
Honestly this Asus router Ax -56U is too low end and can only support up to 1200Mbps 80Mhz radio only so in the real internet world, this router can only provide about 700 to 900 on a wifi 6 laptop so it will not benefit you in term of 5Gbps upgrade. If use back existing router can get like 1Gbps speed on LAN and same wifi speed as 1G plan. Suggest change router to wifi 7 to enjoy faster speed.

Thanks for the suggestion.
any recommended router?

alternative I can sign up with ONT and purchase a HB710 to replace my Asus router but that would means that my deco M9 plus will not work as HB710 is running on easy mesh.. correct?

Apologize, just throwing idea to see which options is the cheapest to go for.

Can I understand, for average user is ONR "easier"? I just need to subscribe broadband for my tenant to use (i'm not staying there), can use with minimal fuss can already. If have issue I want them to call starhub themselves. Only 1 person using, the 29.95 plan seems ideal.

I have an old linksys ac2600 from starhub in my parent's house which was never used which I can bring over if using ONT instead but I just want to minimise my involvement in any tech support.

Yes as not only you get modem, you also get router and mesh

ONT you only get modem and have to buy router

Guys, for the ONR plan = Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (AX5400) + Nokia Beacon 2 (AX1800, lousy mesh node)

Any recommendation which router/ mesh (*Budget of $200*) to get to replace the nokia beacon 2 to enjoy faster wifi?

Please pardon me, not IT inclined here. Will Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (AX5400) + TPlink HB710 give me better WIFI experience than Nokia XS-2426X-A ONR (AX5400) + asus 82u?

I have one asus 82U laying around collecting dust.
