TCL cui.. every now and then saw people doing TCL live stream on tik tok and shopee..
they always promote say TCL good, 3 yrs warranty, anything call customer service blah blah.
then TV spoil like find who? lousy CS.

Luckily Prism+ CS not like that.. i also had a hard time conviencing Prism+ to change another model for me due to current batch issue, they say cannot change to another model, say no top up allowed, etc. i dig up their T&C, found out a point whereby they say warrant does not cover upgrade of another model unlessed AUTHORISED by Prism+, copy and paste the T&C in the email then they let me change to another model without charging me due to QC issue. TV use going to 2 weeks liao so far no issue.

Thats why for me i rather support Prism+ than TCL. next time my TV spoil go back to Prism+, want to try their OLED or mini-LEd model
So many horror stories on TCL TVs, and I haven't even gotten mine yet lol. Pre-ordered at Sep COMEX. Hope there's no hiccup because I scheduled the delivery to be Jan 2025.

Sharing my experience from last time I bought the Roku TCL TV parallel import from USA which now got some panel issues after about 3 years, but still watchable, and TCL USA still updates the firmware often, and now recently upgrade to C755 TCL Google TV.

Price is almost half price for me due to special 12.12 deal, so bite the bullet and now finally Dolby Vision and HDR10 is actually watchable, and not dark blotches which made me hate DV so much last time.

Its really good for 2160p, but 720p from lousy lousy FTA mediacorp is CMI, the TCL Roku upscaled the picture better.

But I think overall its a better TV after some adjustments. Can't complain for the price I paid for. :)

Sounds like C7xx are pretty good TVs.
I'm still glad I bought a Sony though ... coz upscaling is unmatched! Low-res streams still looks decently good ... noticeably better than my previous Philips TV.

Of course. Sony's upscaling tech they called X-Reality is one of the best in the market but you also pay a premium for that chip. ;)

My Nvidia Shield TV Pro - AI upscaling coupled with the C755 is very good for streaming 1080p content and up and I just turned off all noise reduction for best video image quality. (y)

How to get contents for your Nvidia Shield TV Pro?
I use the $280 SVIcloud android box for streaming videos. Most 720p - 1080p streams with some 4K movies.

TCL’s new QD-Mini LED TV for CES 2025 gets blooming reduction, increased brightness, and 144Hz refresh rates

TCL debuted its new precise dimming package for its QLED TVs at CES 2025, launching a new series of TV models, the TCL QM6K.
Before the new TVs, lets look at what TCL’s new precise dimming tech offers.

Halo Control Technology by TCL

TCL’s precise dimming technology is called the TCL Halo Control Technology Suite. It combines various optimisations to improve the responsiveness and mitigation of display flaws of QLED panels (specifically, QD-Mini LED panels used on TCL products).
First is the Super High Energy LED Chip developed by its in-house R&D (Pangu Lab), which increases brightness output by 53% and lighting efficiency by 10%. It’s paired with a new Condensed Micro Lens (which improves upon last year’s UWA Dual Arch lens) for focusing light paths.
Next is a redesigned backlight system called TCL Micro OD (optical distance), which eliminates the halo effect, or blooming, seen in Mini LED panels. According to TCL, the new blooming-controlled backlights improve backlight uniformity by 143%.
The next layer is a panel that grants 7,000:1 static contrast, apparently “5x better than competitors.” This is on top of its Quantum Dot Technology, which provides 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage and up to 100,000 hours of viewing longevity.
Signal processing also saw improvements via Zero-Delay Transient Response for zero lag between the input signal and backlight response, on top of a Bi-Directional 23-bit Backlight Controller granting 65,000 steps of brightness control.
Together, they are TCL’s Halo Control Technology Suite.

The first TCL TVs to have Halo Control Technology Suite is the TCL QM6K series, launched at CES 2025. It comes with 144Hz refresh rate, and gaming compatibility with its Game Accelerator 288 (granting 288Hz variable refresh rate during gaming).
Inside the TV is the AiPQ Pro Processor for its display processing needs, and it also supports a host of popular content formats and profiles: Dolby Vision IQ (including HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, and DLA), Dolby Atmos audio, DTS Virtual:X surround sound, certifications with IMAX Enhanced and AMD FreeSync, and it’s also a smart TV with its Google TV operating system.
New additions include Dolby Vision Filmmaker Mode, Sleep Sounds Mode (for use in a bedroom), Hands-Free Control, and a built-in Onkyo 2.1 Speaker System

I am facing a similar situation with TCL, I also bought TCL C825 65 inch TV in Mar 2022. The TV started to act up in 2024, in July the screen started to have black lines and TCL CS confirmed it will be replaced. I have followed up with them a few times on whatsapp but always got the same answer that the replacement TV is being processed but always pending.

I did not get a loaner TV btw. In late Dec, the TV screen finally failed and upon checking with the TCL CS, they offered me these two options below, I have rejected them but wonder what can I do now. Waiting for the replacement TV that may never come? Or submit to CASE or Small Claim Tribunal but according to your research, there is no such TCL Singapore Company?!?

———————
Hi, thank you for your patience. Understand that we are unable to repair your original TV, the C825 65", and the replacement is still pending, here are two options we can offer to assist:
1. Replacement Option: We can provide you with a brand-new TV equivalent to the remaining warranty amount of $466.44 (calculated as $2099/36 months × 8 months remaining). Please note that the replacement TV may not be the same size as your original, and the warranty will continue from your current warranty period.
2. Offset Option: You may use the remaining warranty amount as a credit to offset the purchase of a new TV.
Please let us know if any of the alternative options above interest you, so we can assist you in resolving this matter as quickly as possible.

Now I saw some TCL TVs advertise 5 year warranty siah :p
https://www.tcl.com/sg/en/support/warranty-policy

Read the warranty policy for those models...

Total 5 years limited warranty period for the C755, C855 and X955 series with the condition of 3 years full warranty and 2 years limited warranty (include parts only) subjected to the issues occured.

Total 5 years limited warranty with the condition of 2 year full warranty and 3 years limited warranty (include parts except television panel only) subjected to the issues occured for V6B Series.

Also read the policy for those with 3 year warranty

Total 3 years full warranty including parts and labour subjected to the issues occured for C845 and C935 Series.

Total 3 years limited warranty with the condition of 2 years full warranty and 1 year limited warranty (include parts only) subjected to the issues occured for C645, C655 and T7B Series.

Total 3 years limited warranty with the condition of 1 year full warranty and 2 years limited warranty (include parts only) subjected to the issues occured for S, P635, P655, P735, P737, P755 and P71B Series.

Then see which model you're getting and be prepared to pay in the 2nd or 3rd year if they only have full warranty for the 1st or 2nd year if anything is faulty.

5 yr warranty with non-existent CS? No thanks. I rather 3 yrs warranty with good and responsive CS, thats why I still stand on Prism+ side. If my Prism+ TV spoil after 3 yrs warranty is over, i will still continue to buy Prism+ TV. I have experienced their CS myself and is really superb.

Which TV company give 1 to 1 free upgrade when their current batch of TV got issues, from QE to Ultra model? Not that i know of.

So many T&Cs - not genuine siah

But a lot of the younger folks these days don't really care cos they have a "use and throw" mindset

Maybe that's why so many YPs on Tiktok keep advertising this brand hahah

even if use and throw mindset, if you never read T & C carefully and buy the cheaper model which have only 1st or 2nd year full warranty....then also bang ball when find out need to pay if anything spoil within the first 3 years.
