Definitely zym, regretted the switch to eight.
If not happy, feel free to port out. That's the good thing about the number portability system that we have; consumers have a choice from a wide variety of MNOs and MVNOs.

Eight doesn't do transfer of ownership. If you try to port in a number that doesn't belong to you, the port in will fail.

But under eight mobile website FAQ section, I found the below information. Note Option 1. So now I'm a bit confused😅
https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-port-in
  • What can I do if my mobile number is not registered under my own Name and NRIC?
    • Don’t worry! There are always ways! Thank you for considering us and we are keen to having you on our network!
    • Option 1: You can ask your family members that registered your current mobile plan to conduct the port-in process for you.
    • Option 2: You can ask your current provider to do a Transfer of Ownership to your own name and NRIC. After that, you can sign up for eight!

Option 1 just means that your family member who owns the number with your donor telco does the port in for you on Eight; it means he/she will still own the number with Eight.

There is no transfer of ownership.

I also know, just that I have to use up the credits first...
The data speed and latency are getting worse as the days pass by.

the option 1 is saying ur parent help u port in without transfer ownership. the line still under their name.

they cannot transfer ownership. just do opt 2.
u just pay the admins fees and transfer ur ownership at ur current telco, then port over.
there no shortcut or free way.

  • Can I transfer the ownership of my mobile plan?
Currently we do not have transfer of ownership functionality. Please ask your friends and family to register new line with eight

Another way is to port to Vivifi or Zero1 first, they can settle the transfer of ownership for free(go research on their website). Fulfil their min period then port to eight.

Is Eight OK for 4G router?

I'm not getting fibre internet for new home, so wondering whether there is throttling. A resident feedback that Giga Starhub is OK at the new place.

Put into a mifi and used in Malaysia for a month. Didn’t notice any throttling. Maybe my usage was light. Less than 100gb.
